\/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing, coordinating, and initiating testing program to characterize activity spectrum, non-target organism effects and ecological risk of new products<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and reviewing ecological risk assessment reports to support registration of biotechnology-derived products<\/li>\n<li>Driving and leading new considerations\/tools for non-target organism bioassays and ecological risk assessment on case by case basis\u2013e.g. new modes of action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Education and Skills\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum Bachelor\u2019s in Entomology, Ecotoxicology or related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Experience in designing and conducting laboratory and\/or field studies to assess for potential adverse effects on insects<\/li>\n<li>Functional knowledge of biostatistics, experimental design, exposure assessment, and analytical methodology<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong project and time management abilities<\/li>\n<li>Agility to work on multiple projects and flexibility to meet business objectives<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated and capable of functioning as an independent scientist while being able to work effectively in a team environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desired Education and Skills\/Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ph.D. or Master\u2019s Degree<\/li>\n<li>Professional experience monitoring and conducting GLP ecotoxicology studies and conducting ecological risk assessments for crop protection products<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and\/or experience interacting with regulatory authorities and issue management<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Nigerian ecotoxicology test guidelines and risk assessment approaches for crop protection products including endangered species risk assessment<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience leading scientific initiatives across functional areas<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience with quality management systems such as ISO or GLP<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience working in Environmental industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Environmental Taxonomist<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing, coordinating, and initiating testing program to characterize activity spectrum, non-target organism effects and ecological risk of new ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment of products with sound and supported scientific responses<\/li>\n<li>Driving publications in accordance<\/li>\n<li>Representing Monsanto\u2019s support for science based environmental risk assessment internally and externally with industry, academia, government and public stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Driving and leading new considerations\/tools for non-target organism bioassays and ecological risk assessment on case by case basis\u2013e.g. new modes of action<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Education and Title:\u00a0Environmental Ecologist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting field surveys to collect information about the numbers and distribution of organisms;<\/li>\n<li>Taxonomy \u2013 classifying organisms;<\/li>\n<li>Applying sampling strategies and employing a range of habitat survey techniques, such as geographic information systems (gis), global positioning systems (gps), aerial photography, records and maps;<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out environmental impact assessments;<\/li>\n<li>Analysing and interpreting data, using specialist software programs;<\/li>\n<li>Habitat management and creation;<\/li>\n<li>Writing reports and issuing recommendations;<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with and advising site managers, engineers, planners and others associated with a survey;<\/li>\n<li>Building relationships with stakeholders, including members of the public;<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out research;<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking teaching in schools or in field centres;<\/li>\n<li>Keeping up to date with new environmental policies and legislation;<\/li>\n<li>Contributing ideas about changes to policy and legislation, based on ecological findings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applied Life Sciences;<\/li>\n<li>Biology (Specialising In Ecology);<\/li>\n<li>Botany\/Plant Science;<\/li>\n<li>Conservation Biology;<\/li>\n<li>Ecology;<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Biology;<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Management;<\/li>\n<li>Geography;<\/li>\n<li>Marine Biology;<\/li>\n<li>Zoology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills Required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enthusiasm about, and fascination for, animals and plants;<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in one or more groups of living organisms;<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to identify different species as appropriate to the role;<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiasm for undertaking fieldwork in sometimes harsh conditions;<\/li>\n<li>Competence in understanding and using<\/li>\n<li>Statistics and other ecological data;<\/li>\n<li>The ability to use computer software
