It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0ICT Focal Point Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID<\/strong>: 1801205<br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Grade<\/strong>: NO-B<br \/>\n<strong>Contractual Arrangement<\/strong>: Fixed-Term Appointment<br \/>\n<strong>Contract duration<\/strong>: 12 Months<br \/>\n<strong>Organization<\/strong>: AF_NGA Nigeria<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives of The Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The unit will provide the services of information and communication technology to WHO Country Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Description of Duties<\/strong><br \/>\nInstallation, Administration and Maintenance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the installation and maintenance of all ICT hardware and software; according to AFRO ICT standard.<\/li>\n<li>Set up and maintain security of the ICT infrastructure (hacker and virus protection, protection against power failure, fire protection, etc;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain inventory of ICT equipment and software;<\/li>\n<li>Administer software and updates;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other UN agencies and external partners on ICT matters.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure uninterrupted and effective ICT services to the office.<\/li>\n<li>Install and support LAN\/WAN and data communications systems as per AFRO ICT Standard (Windows Operating System XP\/2000\/2003, TCP\/IP, Ethernet, VPN, PIX, Firewall, Proxy server, Microsoft Exchange server 2003, VSAT, VolP, SNMP. DNS, DHCP, etc\u2026);Maintain, troubleshoot and repair ICT equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Perform daily server backup of data files;<\/li>\n<li>Set up and maintain disaster recovery procedures;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a quarterly report on informatics equipment inventory;<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical documentation concerning all ICT related activities and update it;Make a monthly activity report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>User and Administrative Support<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide in-house training\/assistance to staff on usage of informatics equipment (computers accessories) programs (software)<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the design and implementation of database applications and other computer programmes;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the activities of external consultants;<\/li>\n<li>Act as ICT\/AFRO focal point at WHO Country Office level;<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential: University degree in Electronics or Communications Engineering or Computer technology<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: Experience in telecommunications and information technology-related matters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential: Two years of experience in administration of information and communications technology.
