{"id":52866,"date":"2018-04-09T12:16:44","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T11:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=52866"},"modified":"2018-04-09T12:16:44","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T11:16:44","slug":"ehealth-africa-new-available-job-2-positions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/ehealth-africa-new-available-job-2-positions.html","title":{"rendered":"eHealth Africa New Available Job [2 Positions]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>eHealth Africa designs and implements data-driven solutions and technologies to improve health systems for and with local communities. eHA\u2019s technology works in low connectivity settings and uses data to drive decision-making by local governments and partner agencies to get optimum results.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Pharmacist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPurpose of the position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Pharmacist will assist with the dispensing of medications, check prescriptions, and provide advice to patients on the medicines that have been prescribed for the patients.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he will ensure adequate supply of pharmacies through smart inventory management, review of actual usage, and review of re-order levels.<\/li>\n<li>The Pharmacist will develop and implement strategic initiatives and services in the pharmacy sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll do<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Pharmacist will support eHA\u2019s clinic predominantly by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a pharmacist you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications to patients. You will achieve this either by executing a physician\u2019s order or by addressing the patient\u2019s problems and needs.<\/li>\n<li>The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. A pharmacist does not merely hand out prescribed medicine; he\/she has the expertise and willingness to assist people and provide them with information and solutions.<\/li>\n<li>The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can either be given immediate treatment for a trifling condition or to be referred to the suitable doctor. Pharmacists must also be able to provide professional advice on cosmetics or parapharmaceuticals.<\/li>\n<li>The goal is to ensure effective medication use and become the people\u2019s trusted ally against health issues. That way you can deliver maximum value to both the pharmacy and society.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and executing physician\u2019s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality<\/li>\n<li>Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products<\/li>\n<li>Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Be caring, compassionate and professional at all times;<\/li>\n<li>Manage clinical risk.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned from time to time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who you are<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of three years progressive experience in Pharmacy within the private and public sector. Both technicians and technologists perform tests and procedures that physicians or other healthcare personnel order.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced troubleshooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Identifies and communicates abnormal results by alerting supervisory personnel, the pathologist, the patient physician, or nurse.<\/li>\n<li>(Toxicology) identifies the presence or quantity of drugs of abuse, therapeutic drugs, and toxic substances by operating toxicology instrumentation and performing manual methods for the performance of drug screens, blood alcohol levels, and carbon monoxide levels.<\/li>\n<li>(Chemistry) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating chemistry equipment; performing hand chemistries.<\/li>\n<li>(Hematology) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment; performing manual methods of differentials.<\/li>\n<li>(Immunology) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating equipment such as the gamma counter, spectrophotometer, densitometer, and through methods such as radioimmunoassay, enzyme immunoassay, and serological testing.<\/li>\n<li>(Microbiology) provides physician with information for treatment of patient infection by performing technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria.<\/li>\n<li>(Blood bank) ensures the patient of receiving compatible blood\/blood components by completing blood typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and antibody identification procedures.<\/li>\n<li>(Blood bank) assures future retrieval of patient transfusion information by preparing patient packets and maintaining blood bank database.<\/li>\n<li>Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens; checking labeling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.<\/li>\n<li>Using a Lab Information Management System for specimen tracking, results entray and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains patient\u2019s confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.<\/li>\n<li>Serves and protects the Diagnostic firm by adhering to professional standards, laboratories policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and other pre-specified standards.<\/li>\n<li>Enhances laboratory services and laboratory reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned from time to time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who you are<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited university.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years working experience in a Medical Laboratory, Clinic or hospital.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant Certifications will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Candidate must possess a Certificate of the Associate of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN)<\/li>\n<li>Candidate must possess current practicing license.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills and communication with a wide variety of patients, medical staff, and caregivers<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills, including Google Office Suite and other medical softwares.<\/li>\n<li>Compassionate and sensitive to patients\u2019 needs and concerns<\/li>\n<li>Good Documentation and analyzing skills<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of Health Regulations, Creating and maintain a Safe &amp; Effective Environment,<\/li>\n<li>Attention to details (Thoroughness)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.<\/li>\n<li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<\/li>\n<li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can become louder at times due to group discussions or activities. eHA is a tobacco-free environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
