It is the first indigenous body of Professional Arbitrators founded in 1979, under the leadership of His Excellency, Judge Bola Ajibola, SAN, KBE and duly incorporated in 1988 under the Companies Act as a legal entity limited by Guarantee. It is a professional body dedicated to the promoting, facilitating and determining of disputes by Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Advocacy, Research\/Programme Officer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Job Description<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Advocacy, Research<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaising closely with Registrar\/CEO in the delivery of the Institute\u2019s advocacy strategy<\/li>\n<li>Participates in relevant arbitration\/ADR policy groups when required<\/li>\n<li>Performs basic analysis of survey research results, including sub-group analysis for inclusion in reports.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for the design, planning and delivery of Institute\u2019s policy and advocacy event<\/li>\n<li>Maintain active membership of key arbitrators\/ADR networks and policy groups where appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Support the production of policy briefings and other materials for use in various communication channels and at external events as directed<\/li>\n<li>Assists with the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of Institute\u2019s policy and advocacy work and deliver regular analysis and updates for management and Governing Council reports etc., as required<\/li>\n<li>Acts as a public relations officer on campaign and advocacy issues if required<\/li>\n<li>Manage multiple research projects concurrently, utilizing a variety of research methodologies &amp; approaches (panel-based surveys, on-device surveys, advertising effectiveness studies, online focus groups, website evaluations)<\/li>\n<li>Oversees all data-related aspects of project execution (e.g., quality control assurance from fielding through report delivery)<\/li>\n<li>Manage progress of survey research projects to ensure accomplishment of objectives \u2013 this includes communication to anticipate challenges related to survey design, fielding\/data collection and project deliverables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programme Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creates, develop and implement fund-raising strategies for Institute\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Research relevant information to improve Institute\u2019s programmatic approach, coordinate the execution and support the implementation of Institute\u2019s programmes and activities<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and track the impact of Institute\u2019s programmes and events<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports for Management, Partners and Funders<\/li>\n<li>Participate in inter-departmental meetings and departmental strategic planning<\/li>\n<li>Any other tasks within the scope of the role as directed and agreed.<\/li>\n<li>Identify potential partnerships with organizations\/Institutions<\/li>\n<li>Research available local and international funding opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Review request for proposals (RFPs) and draft proposals to potential partners and donors for fundraising purposes<\/li>\n<li>Generate increased income for Institute\u2019s programmes and events from existing sources or relationships<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and expand Institute\u2019s network in arbitration and ADR and other business community<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to actively engage Institute\u2019s Members and Stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A good University Degree preferably in Project Management, or related discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Professional Qualification<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project management certification will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in the field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Competencies Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nFunctional\/Technical:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Resourceful nature and excellent problem-solving capabilities<\/li>\n<li>Creative thinking and project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficient user of Microsoft software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Behavioral<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be Pro-active<\/li>\n<li>Must have strong Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have an entrepreneurial spirit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should send their Application Letters with detailed CV\u2019s to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:molorunmola@nicarb.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>molorunmola@nicarb.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>17th April, 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators is a registered mark of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria.
