The Council\u2019s major program areas ace HIV&amp;AIDS, Reproductive Health and Poverty, Gender, and Youth. The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a professional to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Laboratory Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To operate and maintain a standard medical laboratory at the community-based outpatient clinic for men and their sexual partners who engage in high risk behaviors that predispose them to increased risks of HlV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and perform other related duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the laboratory technical support to strengthen biomedical interventions in all programs and research activities<\/li>\n<li>Manage laboratory inventory and reagent logistics<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain a reliable laboratory management information system<\/li>\n<li>To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Medical Officer and Deputy Director (HIV).<\/li>\n<li>Provide Laboratory quality management system and support services to all projects<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the quality and integrity of laboratory services and data at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to timely submission of program \/ research reports<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the biosafety status of the laboratory site<\/li>\n<li>Provide routine laboratory services according to good medical laboratory practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Master of Medical Laboratory Science<\/li>\n<li>Level of IT expertise required \u2013 good<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel within and outside Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Desired number of years of prior experience in a similar role \u2013 3 to 5 years<\/li>\n<li>Effective organizational, planning and administrative skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well individually and in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Effective Laboratory Quality Management System skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in public health and infectious diseases<\/li>\n<li>Effective Laboratory data management and research literacy skills<\/li>\n<li>General Communication, supervisory and interpersonal skill level \u2013 Excellent<\/li>\n<li>Language Requirements \u2013 English \u2013 excellent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should send their Application Letters (stating current salary and salary expectations) and Resume in PDF format to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mzibiri@popcouncil.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>mzibiri@popcouncil.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Clearly state the position title and your full names \u2013 starting with the surname first, then other names in the subject area of the e-mail.
