Our mission is to provide aid as quickly and as efficiently as possible to endangered populations by meeting their vital needs:\u00a0 water, food and shelter.<\/p>\n<p>SI has started activities in North-eastern Nigeria in August 2016 in the fields of Wash and is now intervening in 4 areas of the state for Wash and Shelter activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Field Coordinator Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Location:<\/strong> NGALA<br \/>\n<strong>Beginning of contract:<\/strong> 15\/5\/2018<br \/>\n<strong>Contract duration:<\/strong> 7.5 months (with possibility of extension)<br \/>\nProbation period: 2 months<br \/>\n<strong>Salary and conditions:<\/strong> in accordance with SI\u2019s Terms of Employment; for national staff in Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Delocalized status and related benefits:<\/strong> Applicable<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goal \/ Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Field Coordinator Assistant assists the Field Coordinator in his\/her representation, program coordination, strategy preparation and programming for Solidarit\u00e9s International in his\/her intervention zone, coordination with other humanitarian participants, team management and security and humanitarian monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>These tasks entail strict confidentiality on the part of the Assistant Field Coordinator. It is strictly prohibited for the Field Coordinator Assistant to disclose information concerning Solidarit\u00e9s International and its activities without prior authorization from the Field Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Field Coordinator Assistant participates in the specification of security measures to be undertaken at the base level in collaboration with the Field Coordinator, as well as their post-validation circulation.<\/p>\n<p>List of main tasks:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Security<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect information within the Field Coordinator\u2019s domain of responsibility by attending security briefings with \u2013 or in place of \u2013 the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Carry out security checks for the clearance of team departures out into the field<\/li>\n<li>Analyze information and inform the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Make the weekly security pack and send it to the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Establish informal ties and a network of contacts enabling the collection and verification of diverse information<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an updated list of security contacts in the zone<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the weekly security briefing<\/li>\n<li>Run the contextual and security briefing for new expatriates, in conjunction with the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Representation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under delegation of the Field Coordinator, represent Solidarit\u00e9s International during humanitarian and security coordination meetings<\/li>\n<li>Establish or reinforce relations with authorities under the delegation of the Field Coordinator;<\/li>\n<li>Meet with representatives from various authorities as often as needed to obtain documents or resolve related issues.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that Solidarit\u00e9s International\u2019s message is conveyed during meetings in accordance with its mandate and programs<\/li>\n<li>Regularly visit Solidarit\u00e9s International\u2019s intervention sites<\/li>\n<li>Humanitarian monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Communicate between the local and\/or international NGOs in accordance with the partitioning of contacts decided with the Field Coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Under delegation of the Field Coordinator, attend meetings under his\/her direct responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participate in the drafting of Solidarit\u00e9s International\u2019s intervention strategy in the zone (especially via annual programming) and suggest program orientations in liaison with the Field Coordinator and the base other departments. To this end, the Field Coordinator Assistant is responsible, under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, for humanitarian monitoring in his\/her intervention zone so as to anticipate as early as possible the pertinent needs to be addressed within Solidarit\u00e9s International\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n<p>Monitor the activities in the programs implemented in his\/her intervention zone by comparing the evaluation, intervention and monitoring reports<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Draft minutes for the Field Coordinator for each meeting he\/she attends<\/li>\n<li>Draft the weekly situation report for the context\/security section<\/li>\n<li>Compile the weekly situation report and send it each Monday afternoon to the Field implementation, achievement and reporting of the objectives defined in the proposals, focusing on the emergency activities, support to regular activities, spearhead missions and assessments and support to the other bases.<\/p>\n<p>He \/ She supports the proper coordination betwee, the operational teams (water supply, water quality, sanitation, public health, hygiene promotion), in Maiduguri organization and the planning and preparation of job sites<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the construction and\/or the maintenance of construction work using Solidarit\u00e9s International tools (in particular):<\/li>\n<li>Take part in the identification of sites where work is to be carried out<\/li>\n<li>Recruit and train the workforce and daily workers<\/li>\n<li>Allocate the on-site workforce according to instructions given by the team leader<\/li>\n<li>Carry out work according to technical guidelines and estimates<\/li>\n<li>Respect deadlines established with his\/her program assistant Ensure that standards and instructions given by his\/her Line Manager, as well as Solidarit\u00e9s procedures, are followed<\/li>\n<li>Respect schedules and deadlines agreed upon with his\/her Line Manager<\/li>\n<li>Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the course of the activities and suggest operational solutions<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the training and the work of the CHP (part time workers selected from the community) and collecting cultural and contextual data to adapt HP activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics and Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When recruiting daily workers, follow procedures and directives outlined by his\/her Line Manager and the administrative service<\/li>\n<li>Train his\/her team members to use and maintain the available tools correctly<\/li>\n<li>Track usage with monitoring tools provided<\/li>\n<li>Enforce safety procedures<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that safety procedures are followed by members of his\/her team<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to working sites<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the receipt and storage of material and equipment necessary for his\/her work to be carried out on site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting \/ communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take part in weekly program meetings and clusters on request<\/li>\n<li>Keep his\/her monitoring tools and files archived in the Solidarit\u00e9s office, accessible to his\/her Line Manager<\/li>\n<li>Draw up and submit a weekly task report (which should include progress made by the team) to his\/her Line Manager<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that of all beneficiary justification documents are properly collected, organised and passed on to his\/her Line Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Take part in the drafting of the monthly program pack<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain good relations with local participants and communities (populations) in the operational fields<\/li>\n<li>Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his\/her line manager any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of Solidarit\u00e9s International teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal abilities :<\/strong><br \/>\nProfessional experience: 2 year of experience in similar position (NGO\/Private or Public sector)<br \/>\nLanguages: English, Haussa, Kanuri (Shuwa and\/or Fulani a strong plus)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Personal qualities:<\/strong><br \/>\ndetail oriented, follows protocol, reliable, honest, very good organization, multi-tasking, team player<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical competences :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anthropological or Health related background : Proficiency in PHAST\/CHAST\/CLTS methodology.
