S\/he will ensure all intervention areas are helping the rural community realize meaningful choices in order to lift themselves out of extreme poverty in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities: The Nutrition and Health Specialist will work under the supervision of Impact manager to perform the following duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute strongly to the technical design of intervention programming and ensure activities are effectively and efficiently focused on Client\u2019s vision and strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical leadership and support as needed, and evaluate new opportunities for nutrition and maternal and child health in the Client operating area.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Impact Manager in ensuring that programs are designed, planned and implemented in a sustainable, accountable and transparent way.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain successful relationships with Government Offices, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare high quality progress reports and ensure they are submitted on time.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure health interventions are effectively integrated with other impact program focus areas and collaborate with the rest of the Client\u2019s team and specialists.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Client Monitoring &amp; Evaluation team to ensure that interventions are effectively monitored and evaluated in order to assess progress, increase impact, and guide scaling decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Apply analytical and critical-thinking skills to a wide range of development issues in order to design holistic, integrated, and impactful activities for the target community.<\/li>\n<li>Exemplify the servant leadership philosophy of Client and work with other team members to build company culture around a service and farmer-first mentality.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate activities into the local environment including awareness of political, religious and economic aspects.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties as required by and instructed by the Impact Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Master\u2019s degree in Development studies, Public Health, Nutrition, Social or behavioral sciences, Dietetics, Community Nursing or any other related field from a recognized institution. (Bachelor degrees will be considered with significant field and practical experience (6 -10 years)).<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 4-6 years practical professional experience in the health and nutrition development sector, in addition to Master\u2019s Degree.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive experience developing health projects and activities and\/or managing health and nutrition programs (reference checks required).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of creating and updating training curriculum with proven experience planning and conducting formal training sessions on health and nutrition.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of community development, poverty cycle, rural livelihoods and NGO program cycle management<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated passion or interest for development work, focused on building community leaders and creating grassroots impact in rural areas.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Able to demonstrate servant leadership, a passion for improving the lives of others, and the ability to inspire team members to achieve organizational goals.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use systems and organizational tools, while multitasking and supporting other team members under stressful conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, deadlines, and ability to follow procedures, and work productively both independently and collaboratively with team members.<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to stay and work at the Local Government Area (LGA) in rural areas.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<li>High level of integrity and honesty.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and Hausa is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of nutrition and health strategic communication planning for behavior development, social mobilization, participatory communication and research.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with gender mainstreaming in programming, commitment to being gender sensitive in approaches and programming; ability to promote inclusiveness and respect diverse perspectives.<\/li>\n<li>Experience and knowledge with project-level Monitoring and Evaluation.
