A communications for social change organization that combines the power of media with community mobilization, EA manage the production for AREWA24, the first free-to-air, Hausa language entertainment and lifestyle satellite television channel produced by and for northern Nigerians and devoted entirely to the Hausa speaking peoples of Nigeria, West Africa and around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Equal Access creates customized communications strategies and outreach solutions that foster peace building and social cohesion, women &amp; girls\u2019 empowerment, youth life skills &amp; livelihoods, human rights, health, as well as civic participation and good governance in the developing world.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Studio Technician<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Kano<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Head of Office, Kano<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full-time<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are looking for a Studio Sound Engineer to work from Kano with technical know-how on studio dubbing, Sound and video editing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The sound operator is expected to assemble, operate and maintain the technical equipment used to record, amplify, enhance, mix or reproduce sound on location or within studio settings. To identify the sound requirements for a given task or situation and perform the appropriate actions to produce this sound. Specific duties include;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Production activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consult with producers\/program staff, presenters and performers to determine sound requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Select, position, adjust and operate the equipment used for amplification and recording;<\/li>\n<li>Applying technical knowledge of sound recording equipment to achieve the determined artistic objectives;<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring audio signals to detect sound-quality deviations or malfunctions;<\/li>\n<li>Anticipating and correcting any problems<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the care and maintenance of studio equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Post-production activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mixing and balancing speech, effects and music;<\/li>\n<li>And: operate a video camera to ensure content from Equal Access activities are recorded and prepared for social media platforms, television and other services, as required.<\/li>\n<li>Also: Any other duties assigned by supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure content is produced to the highest international standards for radio services<\/li>\n<li>When required, integrating (synchronisation) of pre-recorded audio (dialogue, sound effects and music) with visual content;<\/li>\n<li>Re-recording and synchronising audio (post-synching);<\/li>\n<li>Creating and altering sound effects for use in films, television, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Qualities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma, OND in Media and Communication or related field<\/li>\n<li>Calmness under pressure, patience and concentration<\/li>\n<li>Proven practical skills and knowledge of sound equipment i.e. Sound Mixer, Radio Microphones, Studio Operations.<\/li>\n<li>An interest in photography, film and video<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and \u2018people skills\u2019<\/li>\n<li>The ability to carry out instructions accurately and with attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>The Studio Technician must have good knowledge and proven experience with software that includes:\n<ul>\n<li>Adobe audition, Soundtrack pro, Logic Pro, Sonar, Pro tools, Cubase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nA competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Cover Letter\u2019s indicating their reasons for interest in the position and a Resume to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:equalaccessng@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>equalaccessng@gmail.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with \u201cStudio Technician\u201d in the subject line of the email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>31st May, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have the right to work in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Equal Access does not provide sponsorship or pay relocation or housing costs.<\/li>\n<li>Equal Access is an equal opportunity employee, and all is welcome to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Equal Access Nigeria (EA) is an international not for profit organization, headquartered in San Francisco and working throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
