It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Clerk\/Typist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ref Id<\/strong>: 1801973<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Grade<\/strong>: G3<br \/>\nContractual Arrangement: Temporary Appointment under Staff Rule 420.4<br \/>\nContract duration: 12 months<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Administrative Officer, the incumbent performs the following duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manning of the main telephone lines, Screens, places\/receives and transfers calls to their intended destination.<\/li>\n<li>Receives and screens visitors coming into the office, responding to routine enquiries.<\/li>\n<li>Types correspondence, documents and reports from plain copy, forms, handwritten or rough draft materials for programme offices, reviews and corrects capitalization, spelling and punctuations with word processing (MS Word).<\/li>\n<li>Maintains correspondence logs, updates the staff telephone directory, carries out task for production and distribution of reports, scanning of documents for email transmission.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential: Secondary school certificate combined<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: formal secretarial training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential: At least 5 years\u2019 experience on basic office secretarial work<\/li>\n<li>Desirable: Experience in working with bilateral or multilateral International Organizations in the country is an Advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be familiar with MS Windows applications.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain good relations with people at various levels and of different nationalities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHO Competencies<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Producing results<\/li>\n<li>Communication<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the effective use of resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Use of Language Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential: Good knowledge of English and a local language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/tl-ex.vcdp.who.int\/careersection\/ex\/jobdetail.ftl?job=1801973&amp;tz=GMT%2B01%3A00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>22nd May, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The deadline for receipt of applications indicated above reflects your personal device\u2019s system settings.<\/li>\n<li>This vacancy notice may be used to fill other similar positions at the same grade level<\/li>\n<li>Only candidates under serious consideration will be contacted.<\/li>\n<li>A written test may be used as a form of screening.<\/li>\n<li>In the event that your candidature is retained for an interview, you will be required to provide, in advance, a scanned copy of the degree(s)\/diploma(s)\/certificate(s) required for this position.
