Support the development of Health and Safety mindset addressing three major areas; site conditions, procedures and behavior. Lead safety and promote best practices. Improve safety results through cultural transformation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nFoster the implementation of the Group Health &amp; Safety roadmap in all the business units of the company:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide assistance, coaching and support to the business units for the elaboration and sharing of Health &amp; Safety Policies, standards and procedures aligned with the company\u2019s requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and facilitate implementation in all locations of the company.<\/li>\n<li>Assess compliance through recurrent safety audits.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the evaluation of technical skills and competences of the Health &amp; Safety network in addition to participating in recruitment processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activate Health &amp; Safety improvements throughout the company:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help and challenge the company in defining their health and safety annual plan.<\/li>\n<li>Validate and challenge root cause analysis and action plans for major accidents or near misses and ensure follow up of action plans.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate experience sharing and convergence in Health &amp; Safety.<\/li>\n<li>Benchmark company\u2019s best practices nationwide while respecting local preferences and priorities but ensuring company level improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Elaborate periodic follow ups of Health &amp; Safety results through the country, analyzing trends, actions and network effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Implement Health &amp; Safety programs defined by the company in all locations and give needed support.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Health &amp; Safety network to propose safety actions and programs to address the company\u2019s business need.<\/li>\n<li>Consolidation all levels of the company\u2019s performance indicators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ensure Health &amp; Safety is one of the company\u2019s core values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coach and challenge the Executive Council and plant managers on safety, leadership and performance.<\/li>\n<li>Raise the profile of the company\u2019s safety initiative.<\/li>\n<li>In line with the company policy, develop training programs for leaders and attract talent in Health &amp; Safety positions.<\/li>\n<li>Develop close communication within and across business units.<\/li>\n<li>Coach and assist the Health &amp; Safety network in the company and act as liaison within the Region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Bachelor degree.<\/li>\n<li>MBA, M.Sc or equivalent will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10-15 years HSE experience of which 5 years must be at a senior management level.<\/li>\n<li>Professional membership or registration in Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP)<\/li>\n<li>NEBOSH\/OSHA certificate etc.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in corporate HSE management, operations, safety audits, management information systems.<\/li>\n<li>Budget planning &amp; preparation.<\/li>\n<li>Project management expertise and strategic planning &amp; development<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver results.<\/li>\n<li>Have professional confidence.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a strategic thinker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Closing Date<\/strong><br \/>\nNot Specified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adexen Recruitment Agency \u2013 Our client, a leading manufacturing company with a global presence, is recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Health and Safety Director Job Reference: 1439&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[62],"tags":[193],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
