Pact has been in Nigeria since 2005, and currently implements donor-funded development projects in 4 States in the area of Health, integrating livelihoods, capacity development, and governance systems.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Research Assistant (Consultant)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPosition Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Research Assistant (RA) will support ongoing activities to evaluate SAQIP\u2019s mothers\u2019 group\u2019s intervention.<\/li>\n<li>The evaluation will use robust methods and its findings will describe the effectiveness of SAQIP\u2019s mothers\u2019 groups approaches.<\/li>\n<li>It will also demonstrate the channels of change and generate recommendations for effective program planning and\/or scale-up of the intervention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Period of Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The period of performance will be from 30th May through 18th June 2018. All work will be done locally in Abuja, with travel to Gombe.<\/li>\n<li>This position will report to Pact\u2019s Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) Director and work closely with the MERL team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review of relevant literature<\/li>\n<li>Tracking of implementation of field work for the evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Tracking of the quality of data entered by data collectors (office-based)<\/li>\n<li>Develop weekly reports on progress of implementation of activities.<\/li>\n<li>Design of the evaluation and development of evaluation protocol<\/li>\n<li>Review\/update of existing questionnaires and other tools<\/li>\n<li>Review\/update of respondents\u2019 consent forms<\/li>\n<li>Request for IRB and local administrative approval from appropriate authorities<\/li>\n<li>Release of RFP for the evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in statistics, public health, demography, or related fields; Must have graduated B.Sc. with at least a second-class upper division.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse people.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with SPSS, STATA, R, EPI-INFO (advantage).<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in the development sector (advantage).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel and work in Gombe State.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative, think analytically, and come up with creative solutions to problems.<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing and\/or implementing field-based research.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality documents.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and good emotional intelligence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Resume and cover letter as one MS Word Document to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:pactngprocurement@pactworld.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>pactngprocurement@pactworld.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with the subject of the mail as \u201cResearch Assistant\u201d.<br \/>\n<strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>23rd May, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pact is an international non-governmental organization with headquarters in Washington DC, USA.
