At VGN we wage war against the average, go beyond the ordinary to explore limitless opportunities; breaking the norms and aggressively pursuing success through- Relentless Hard-work, Pursuit of excellence, calculated risk-taking and a hunger for knowledge and we have a lot of fun at it!<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Server Administrator<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nJob Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are actively seeking a Senior Server Administrator who will plan, implement, oversee and maintain server and network infrastructures and related projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, install and configure internal and customer-facing servers<\/li>\n<li>Proactively manage and maintain both On-premise and Cloud-based server systems<\/li>\n<li>Mentor\/cross train team members on existing and new technologies<\/li>\n<li>Carry out special tasks at Management\u2019s direction<\/li>\n<li>Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required and other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Administer and support core Microsoft, AWS and VMware technologies<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will enable a hands-off environment<\/li>\n<li>Define and document best practices and support procedures<\/li>\n<li>Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation<\/li>\n<li>Assist with server hardware, and software vendor evaluation, recommendation and negotiations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nTechnical Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.<\/li>\n<li>5 years\u2019 work experience minimum.<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft IIS administration and configuration<\/li>\n<li>Linux\/UNIX administration<\/li>\n<li>Active Directory\/LDAP user and group administration<\/li>\n<li>Ability to troubleshoot server and network issues including backbone infrastructure issues<\/li>\n<li>LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks).<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Certification (MCSA) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016) \/desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, 8, 10)<\/li>\n<li>Managing in excess of 50 Windows Server infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Managing deployments\/rollouts<\/li>\n<li>Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server\/ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V\/Virtual Server Systems.<\/li>\n<li>A solid understanding of LAN\/WAN networking<\/li>\n<li>Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional -CCNA\/ CCNP (Desired)<\/li>\n<li>Group Policy design and configuration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Functional Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good understanding of cloud-based technology.<\/li>\n<li>Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a team player.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and documentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.<\/li>\n<li>Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><br \/>\nWorking conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility is important.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Equal opportunity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role is open to anyone who meets the above criteria regardless of race or nationality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nCompetitive based on experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Venture Garden Nigeria (VGN) is a fast growing Software company with a vision to build an enduring organization with an ecosystem of value creators- while delivering high impact technology solutions&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[37],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
