Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization dedicated to alleviate the suffering of the poorest people. SIF acts wherever humanitarian and social needs require mobilization of emergency relief and\/or implementation of development programs.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Head of Mission (M\/F)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Expected starting date<\/strong>: ASAP<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He\/she is responsible for<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The overall program development and program implementation;<\/li>\n<li>The staff management,<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteeing the respect of SIF procedures, policies and best practices,<\/li>\n<li>Representing the SIF toward local authorities, and the different stakeholders (donors, local NGOs \u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and securing institutional donor\u2019s funding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership of the Country Programme<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To maintain and develop SIF\u2019s presence in Nigeria,<\/li>\n<li>To coordinate and manage the overall planning and direction of SIF\u2019s operations in Nigeria ,<\/li>\n<li>To develop and maintain a coherent strategy that contributes to SIF\u2019s global objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programme Development<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To regularly analyze the context, risks, operational access issues and availability of resources, in relation to the program objectives,<\/li>\n<li>To oversee the field assessments,<\/li>\n<li>To assess the donor environment and opportunities for funding, and ensure concept notes and proposals are developed (according to SIF institutional strategy) and submitted in due time,<\/li>\n<li>To ensure effective and timely coordination of technical inputs\u00a0 in proposal development within country program and HQs,<\/li>\n<li>To develop and maintain SIF\u2019s emergency activities and oversee the scale up of the emergency response,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Representation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To represent SIF, coordinate and advocate on key issues with local and national authorities,\u00a0 UN agencies, donors and\u00a0 INGOs,<\/li>\n<li>To develop funding strategies and donor mapping analysis,<\/li>\n<li>To manage external communications in collaboration with the HQs communications department. Act as the contact person with press and media,<\/li>\n<li>To maintain regular communications with HQs using the established procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Staff Management \/ Human Resources<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide leadership and management to the team,<\/li>\n<li>To line manage senior staff, regularly make performance and management appraisals (at least one a year),<\/li>\n<li>To support national and international staff, ensuring that individuals work effectively together as a team to achieve the programme objectives,<\/li>\n<li>To organize and supervise capacity building and development of national staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To ensure that appropriate logistic structures and procedures are established and \/ or are maintained in accordance with the SIF guidelines,<\/li>\n<li>To oversee the timely and efficient planning and implementation of procurement and supply of items in line with project needs,<\/li>\n<li>To ensure adequate management of warehousing, compounds, transportation, goods in kind, and assets according to SIF procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Safety and Security Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the safety and security of all SIF staff and visitors to Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure that a safety and security framework for SIF operations is developed, communicated, adhered to and regularly reviewed,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Administration and Finance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To oversee budget preparation, and analysis of actual expenditures vs. budget,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of previous experience in humanitarian work, including previous experiences as Country Director, Deputy Country Director or Chief of Party with INGOS in similar context<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working within an insecure environment with responsibility for security planning, monitoring and management<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to act with diplomacy &amp; proven liaison and negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of the Humanitarian principles<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of commitment to SIF mission and values.<\/li>\n<li>Substantial experience of strategic thinking, including identifying, analyzing, problem solving, and responding to opportunities and challenges and the ability to translate these into practical action plans<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge and experience of project planning and budget holding; proposal and report writing<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership skill, with excellent written and spoken English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>French fixed term contract \u201cCDD d\u2019usage\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Medical cover (60% cover by SIF and 40% covered by the expatriate)<\/li>\n<li>R&amp;R every at 3 and 9 month<\/li>\n<li>Remuneration according to profile<\/li>\n<li>Monthly Per diem<\/li>\n<li>Housing 100% covered by SIF<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/secours-islamique-fr.jobs.net\/fr-FR\/job\/chef-de-mission-nigeria-h-f\/J3M3L26KVFJX6D1KSJP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France.
