You\u2019ll need a Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree to be accepted.<\/p>\n
A degree in HR Management would be an advantage, but is not essential.<\/p>\n
Programme overview<\/h3>\n
This programme is designed to give you broad and in-depth experience of both strategic and operational HR. You’ll spend a year learning how HR relationship managers add value to the organisation, through leveraging various HR products to drive strategic business outcomes. This experience will be complemented by three intensive rotations in specialist areas such as learning and talent development, performance & engagement or reward.<\/p>\n
Your rotation experiences will be coupled with formal development, including classroom and e-learning elements, plus a secondment to our world-class Shared Service Centre in India where you’ll develop a firm foundation in Human Resources service delivery and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The programme consists of four standard rotations of varying lengths:<\/p>\n
Rotation 1 –\u00a0(11 months)<\/strong>
\nYou\u2019ll be assigned to your rotation in Country Human Resources after your induction. This will be a general HR role supporting a senior HR Relationship Manager. As a new recruit you\u2019ll be exposed to a number of various areas including:<\/p>\n\n- Resourcing<\/li>\n
- Learning & Talent Development<\/li>\n
- Employee Relations<\/li>\n
- Engagement<\/li>\n
- Performance Management<\/li>\n
- Recognition<\/li>\n
- Reward<\/li>\n
- Risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Rotation 2 \u2013\u00a0HR Shared Service Centre (HRSSC) in Chennai, India (2 months)<\/strong>
\nTo build upon your knowledge of how HR operates in-country, you\u2019ll spend two months in India. Our HRSSC provides extensive support to both the HR community and to our employees across the Group.<\/p>\nThis rotation will help you gain an understanding of:<\/p>\n
\n- How we collaborate with and support the HR function across Standard Chartered<\/li>\n
- The purpose of the HRSSC and all the processes within it<\/li>\n
- Our relationship with risk<\/li>\n
- What and how external factors affect the HRSSC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Rotation 3 \u2013\u00a0Centre of Expertise (8 months)<\/strong>
\nDuring this rotation, you\u2019ll work in one of our global product areas. These areas focus on the strategy, the policy and processes that informs our work. You\u2019ll have an opportunity to build your knowledge around the way we integrate our philosophies in practice through resourcing, reward, learning and talent development.<\/p>\nRotation 4 \u2013\u00a0Business HR within a Consumer Banking branch or Wholesale Banking team (2 months)<\/strong>
\nThis will include gaining an understanding of:<\/p>\n\n- How we drive value and deliver exceptional customer service<\/li>\n
- The purpose and structure of our core products in either Consumer or Wholesale Banking<\/li>\n
- The end-to-end process from customer interaction through to operations and accounting<\/li>\n
- How the work of functions impacts the front line<\/li>\n
- The role of Personal Financial Consultants (PFC) and Customer Relationship Managers (CRM) in-branch<\/li>\n
- Customer engagement skills and how to negotiate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Additional skills training<\/h3>\n
In your first year, you\u2019ll be required to attend the HR Academic programmes. This will take place directly after the International Induction Programme and will help you focus on gaining the technical skills and knowledge you\u2019ll need to succeed within HR.<\/p>\n
