Due to the nature of the work involved a degree in a related area is preferred, e.g. Engineering, Real Estate, Building Management or Environmental Studies.<\/p>\n<h3>About the programme<\/h3>\n<p>This programme will provide you with the foundation for a truly international career, by covering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Corporate Real Estate Strategy<\/li>\n<li>Risk &#8211; Business Continuity, Security, Health and Safety<\/li>\n<li>Space and Asset Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll gain experience in country and group roles across a number of core teams within this critical function.<\/p>\n<h3>For CRES graduates, the on-the-job development consists of four standard rotations:<\/h3>\n<p>Rotation 1 \u2013\u00a0<strong>Country CRES (10 months)<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce on board you\u2019ll be assigned a rotation within country compliance, and this will include developing knowledge and skills across a number of areas. During this time you\u2019ll learn how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a clear brief from a business unit, regarding a real estate requirement, via a consulting approach<\/li>\n<li>Translate the real estate brief into a premises requirement specification<\/li>\n<li>Develop a business case for the real estate requirement<\/li>\n<li>Engage the necessary stakeholders required to gain approval of specified premises<\/li>\n<li>Take the business case through the Bank\u2019s internal approval process<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a premises search, using internal and external resources to identify a site which meets user requirements<\/li>\n<li>Successfully negotiate favourable lease terms for the Bank<\/li>\n<li>Prepare, in conjunction with the landlord, the required lease documentation necessary to ensure financial, environmental, health and safety and operational risks are mitigated to the extent possible<\/li>\n<li>Renew an existing lease at most favourable terms<\/li>\n<li>Conduct market reviews to benchmark industry trends and current market rates for various types of real estate, including office, retail and potentially warehouse<\/li>\n<li>Effectively work with external service providers to maximise value throughout the leasing transactions process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rotation 2 \u2013\u00a0<strong>Consumer Banking Branch (2 months)<\/strong><br \/>\nThis will include gaining an understanding of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How we drive value and deliver exceptional customer service<\/li>\n<li>The ability to explain the purpose and structure of our core products for\u00a0<a title=\"Consumer Banking\" href=\"http:\/\/www.standardchartered.com\/sme-banking\/en\/index.html\">Consumer Banking<\/a> or\u00a0<a title=\"Wholesale Banking\" href=\"http:\/\/wholesalebanking.standardchartered.com\/en\/Pages\/homepage.aspx\">Wholesale Banking<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The role that their specific function plays in supporting the customer experience.<\/li>\n<li>The end-to-end process from customer through to operations and accounting.<\/li>\n<li>How the work of CRES impacts the front line<\/li>\n<li>How Personal Financial Consultants (PFC) and Customer Relationship Managers (CRM) in branch operate<\/li>\n<li>The development of outline structures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rotation 3 \u2013\u00a0<strong>CRES Risk (4 months)<\/strong><br \/>\nThis will include gaining an understanding of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and the risk management process<\/li>\n<li>BCM best practice and key regulatory requirements<\/li>\n<li>The Bank\u2019s approach to the application of BCM measures and procedures to mitigate risks<\/li>\n<li>Participating in a gap analysis review of country Business Continuity preparedness, and formation of a country action plan<\/li>\n<li>The preparation and analysis of the Management Information reporting for Business Continuity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rotation 4 \u2013\u00a0<strong>CRES Real Estate (7 months)<\/strong><br \/>\nThis will include building knowledge and skills around:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The regulatory environment, risks and challenges faced by an internationally active bank<\/li>\n<li>How the Group\u2019s key risk Compliance policies and processes are applied into country<\/li>\n<li>How Compliance provides advice and assurance to the business and supports its progression<\/li>\n<li>The regulatory risks in the specific business<\/li>\n<li>The structure of the Group and a greater exposure to its governance processes and controls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Business skills training<\/h3>\n<p>You will be required to attend the CRES Academic programmes. These will start in your first year immediately after the International Induction Programme.
