Our mission is to provide aid as quickly and as efficiently as possible to endangered populations by meeting their vital needs: drinking water, food and shelter.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Logistics Assistant<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Ngala, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Beginning of contract:<\/strong> 2nd July, 2018.<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong> 6 months (with possibility of extension)<br \/>\n<strong>Probation period:<\/strong> 2 months<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goal \/ Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The logistics assistant supports the Logistics Manager in implementing and supervising all logistical activities at his\/her assigned base.<\/li>\n<li>The Logistics Assistant will also lend his\/her support the Manger carrying out urgent activities and the filing and archiving logistical documents.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she temporarily takes on the basic tasks of the Logistics Manager in their absence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>List of Main Tasks<\/strong><br \/>\nManagement of Supplies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement purchases, monitoring adherence to validation regulations and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate prices, deadlines and methods of delivery<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that relationships with suppliers are monitored.<\/li>\n<li>Update price lists and vendor databases<\/li>\n<li>Control Solidarit\u00e9s International purchase procedures<\/li>\n<li>Verify and process quote requests and IOFs<\/li>\n<li>Compose and archive purchase folders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Management of Vehicle Fleet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and repair work on mission vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Draw up the vehicle schedule<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that a complete breakdown kit is available on board all vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Check that vehicle log books are in place and are used correctly<\/li>\n<li>Assist in monitoring and consolidating fuel consumption and miles travelled for all vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Prevent misappropriation of petrol and spare parts<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the administrative documents for all vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Management of Equipment\/Telecommunications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in installing and securing materials<\/li>\n<li>Assist in monitoring and maintaining materials<\/li>\n<li>Organize training sessions in the use of means of communication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Management and Monitoring of IT Equipment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Update antivirus software<\/li>\n<li>Provide teams with adequate means for data backup<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the maintenance and correct use of IT equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Management of Supplies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise the maintenance and securing of warehouses<\/li>\n<li>Support the logistics officer in carrying out stock checks and physical inventories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Human Resource Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the recruitment process and in evaluating the members of the logistical team<\/li>\n<li>Establish team schedules in conjunction with the logistics officer<\/li>\n<li>Ensure or assist with logistical training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Personal abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A good listener<\/li>\n<li>Effective Communicator, confident<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<li>Team Player, initiative, proactive<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, persuasive skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Planner, analytical<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supplies Management<\/li>\n<li>Languages; Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri and other local languages is desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate with good IT Management Skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Logistics, IT, Procurement, HR and Admin procedures<\/li>\n<li>Fleet and Equipment Management<\/li>\n<li>2 years\u2019 experience in INGO in Logistics responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary and Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In accordance with SI\u2019s Terms of Employment;
