{"id":59891,"date":"2018-07-04T12:19:31","date_gmt":"2018-07-04T11:19:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=59891"},"modified":"2018-07-04T12:19:31","modified_gmt":"2018-07-04T11:19:31","slug":"african-reinsurance-corporation-vacant-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/african-reinsurance-corporation-vacant-job.html","title":{"rendered":"The African Reinsurance Corporation Vacant Job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) is the leading pan-African reinsurance company and the largest re-insurer in Africa and the Middle East in terms of net reinsurance written premiums.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Assistant Accounts Officer<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Head Office, Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time<br \/>\n<strong>Grade Level:<\/strong> Support Staff<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nResponsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for the financial accounting activities of the Pools and preparation of the relevant financial statement of the Pools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties\/Job Details<\/strong><br \/>\nThe duties of the Assistant Accounts Officer shall comprise amongst others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updating &amp; rendition of Pools members statement and shareholding<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of annual\/half year accounts of the Pools<\/li>\n<li>Inter office reconciliation for all locations<\/li>\n<li>Attending to any other duties as may be assigned by the Corporation\u2019s management from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>Timely processing of receipts for all premiums paid to the pools by our clients.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements for the Pools<\/li>\n<li>Cash flow management<\/li>\n<li>Processing &amp; accounting for Dividend Payment to Pool Members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications And Professional Experience<\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants must be holders of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First degree ( or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>3 Years of experience of which 2 years are relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Additional professional qualifications in accounting and\/or insurance would be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the Reinsurance \/Insurance industry would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Main Competencies Required For This Position:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic knowledge of the accounting cycle, financial statement presentation using standards (IFRS, GAAP, SAM), disclosure requirements &amp; ethics and professional &amp; accounting ethics<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of financial performance evaluation techniques, profit analysis &amp; margins, cost accounting &amp; management techniques and management control &amp; decision making support.<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate knowledge of the insurance\/reinsurance;<\/li>\n<li>Basic usage of word processing, spread sheets and presentation packages.
