We also provide certification, supply chain and data management services to customers across a wide range of industries.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Surveyor Fleet in charge \u2013 Maritime<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Requisition ID:<\/strong> 2018-11061<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Port Harcourt, Rivers<br \/>\n<strong>Business Area:<\/strong> Maritime<br \/>\n<strong>Category\/Discipline:<\/strong> Surveying<br \/>\n<strong>Position Type:<\/strong> Permanent employment<\/p>\n<p>Local Unit &amp; Position Description<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Port Harcourt Station consists of Maritime activities (Fleet in Service (FiS) conventional maritime vessels in particular offshore support vessels, tankers and container vessels and Fleet in Service (FiS-O) FPSOs\/ FSOs and Drilling Units ) and Oil and Gas (VMC\/CMC) activities for EPC Contractors and IOC\/NOCs.<\/li>\n<li>The present team consists of 4 Maritime Surveyors and 2 Oil and Gas Surveyors and activity level in the station and within the Area of West Africa is on the increase.<\/li>\n<li>Coverage area includes major ports in Nigeria (Lagos, Port Harcourt, Warri, Onne and Calabar) and offshore Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>As a member of the Nigerian Team it is expected to work and support operations within the wider West Africa Area of Operations as and when necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Surveys and audits for vessels operating in or calling in Nigerian Ports<\/li>\n<li>Offshore surveys on FPSO\/FSO and Drilling Units<\/li>\n<li>CMC\/VMC surveys<\/li>\n<li>Approval of Service Suppliers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel requirement: Frequent domestic and occasional international travel expected<\/li>\n<li>Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job (standing, lifting, climbing, other): Climbing pilot ladders &amp; tanks entries, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.<\/li>\n<li>Language: English speaking\/writing proficiency, French language skills would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Education: Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Chief Engineer with shipboard experience<\/li>\n<li>Years of related experience: &gt;5 years<\/li>\n<li>Technical competencies: DNV GL qualifications as class &amp; statutory surveyor (FiS and FiS-O) and ISM, ISPS &amp; MLC auditor.<\/li>\n<li>CMC\/VMC in particular related to the offshore and oil\/gas industry would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Behavioral competencies: Team player but able to work independently on surveys &amp; audits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/careers-dnvgl.icims.com\/jobs\/11061\/surveyor-fleet-in-charge---maritime\/job?iis=Job+Board&amp;iisn=LinkedIn&amp;mobile=false&amp;width=966&amp;height=500&amp;bga=true&amp;needsRedirect=false&amp;jan1offset=0&amp;jun1offset=60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DNV GL is a global quality assurance and risk management company.
