Social and behavior change communication (SBCC) activities ensure Nigerians are aware of understand, and play their part in the national goal of malaria elimination.<\/p>\n<p>HC3 Nigeria is working with the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) and partnering organizations to ensure SBCC activities achieve scale and intensity throughout the country. With over 177 million people to reach, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. Interventions introduced have to achieve impact with a combination of wide reach and intense interpersonal communication activity.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0BA State Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> BA-Nigeria Deputy Project Director Integrated SBC &amp; FP<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The BA-Nigeria State Coordinator will provide technical and programmatic leadership for all Family Planning SBC activities \u2013 including advocacy, community engagement, mass media, M&amp;E and other interventions \u2013 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<\/li>\n<li>S\/he will report directly to the BA-Nigeria Deputy Project Director \u2013 Integrated SBC &amp; FP and works in close consultation on technical, programmatic, SBC and M&amp;E with the BA-Nigeria Technical Leads at HQ and the BA-Nigeria Project Director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to the overall technical inputs to the project as described above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following:<\/li>\n<li>Assist Deputy Project Director \u2013 Integrated SBC &amp; FP with the development and implementation of the Family Planning SBC activities including Advocacy, Demand Generation and Service Provider IPC\/C components of the project at state level.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships at the State level with USAID and other implementing partners, State MOHs and other key stakeholders, with guidance from and in collaboration with the Deputy Project Director- Integrated SBC &amp; FP and Project Director.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate closely with the BA-Nigeria HQ Team<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the development and writing of timely program reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and disseminate program success stories, and other reporting duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with design and oversee implementation of the all project activities at the State level, including monitoring and evaluation system,<\/li>\n<li>The position will be based in BA-Nigeria headquarters office in Abuja, FCT<\/li>\n<li>Travel to project focal areas within the state is expected to be approximately 40% or more.<\/li>\n<li>Perform job duties\/responsibilities in support of JHU-CCP\u2019s Mission and Values, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor or Project Director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Public Health, Social Science, Humanities, other) required. Master\u2019s Degree highly valued.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience managing a Family Planning, Malaria or related Reproductive Health programs in Nigeria. Advocacy, SBCC and\/or Community Mobilization expertise highly valued.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, and organizational skills; and ability to influence and facilitate advocacy agendas at LGA and State level<\/li>\n<li>Must be fluent in English and, given the geographic focus of the project, fluency in Hausa is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Experience in providing administrative leadership and support to work teams Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas of Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>BA-Nigeria Social Mobilization Officer<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)<br \/>\nReports to: State Coordinator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The BA-Nigeria Social Mobilization Officer will provide technical support to the state project team in the process of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of social and community mobilization activities.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he is expected to \u2018Work in close collaboration with the Community Mobilizers, State and LGA Health Educators, Ward Development Committees and the State BA-Nigeria Team to plan, organize, conduct, report and follow-up social and community mobilization activities related to family planning.<\/li>\n<li>The incumbent will maintain regular communication with State Coordinator, BA-Nigeria Technical Leads and BA-Nigeria Deputy Project Director \u2013 Integrated SBC &amp; FP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nIn addition to the overall technical inputs to the project as described above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support implementation of social and community mobilization activities in collaboration with the Community Mobilizers, State and LGA Health Educators, Ward Development Committees Support advocacy with religious and community leaders to create an enabling environment to improve awareness on the benefits of family planning and promote uptake of services.<\/li>\n<li>Organize meetings with religious, traditional and community leaders, village heads, community groups, women\u2019s groups, trade associations and other relevant community segments to improve awareness on family planning and availability of services<\/li>\n<li>Support training and supervision of Community Mobilizers and other social\/community mobilization agents working under the Project Family Projector implementing government-led initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Support the BA-Nigeria M&amp;E Officer and State Coordinator to effectively collect, collate and report social\/community mobilization data as required<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with State Coordinator and State M&amp;E Officers to ensure documentation of all community mobilization activities<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit timely and quality activity reports, including field notes and success stories, to effectively capture lessons learnt on the ground from the projects.<\/li>\n<li>Provide administrative support as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out other tasks to support the Project FP&amp; Malaria project efforts as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HND or a Bachelor\u2019s Degree with at least 3-5 years\u2019 work experience in advocacy, social and\/or community mobilization in family planning or any reproductive health programs<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, and organizational skills; and ability to influence and facilitate advocacy agendas at State and LGA levels<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of local communities and cultures in the State of assignment, and ability to communicate fluently in the commonly spoken local language.<\/li>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas of Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, or similar software<\/li>\n<li>Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Experience in providing administrative leadership and support to work teams<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work successfully in cross-cultural, team-based environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Cover Letters and Curriculum Vitae (CV) as one PDF document to:\u00a0<strong>hiring@hc3nigeria.org<\/strong>\u00a0The subject line of your email should be: \u201cJob Title\u201d<strong>Application Instructions<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease follow the below instructions EXACTLY.
