Its mission is to be the leading provider of innovative humanitarian and development solutions and services in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a smart, passionate and qualified individual to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Monitoring and Evaluation Intern<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting:<\/strong> Direct report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> Six months preferred but may be extended<br \/>\n<strong>Expenses:<\/strong> This is an unpaid volunteering opportunity. Daily or monthly expenses will be reimbursed based on organization\u2019s policy<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nSummary of Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To support the monitoring &amp; evaluation system of AHDI with a particular focus on the use of scientifically sound methods of impact evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will work under the guidance of the M&amp;E Manager to implement the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&amp;E) framework for the organization\u2019s projects and contribute to the design and implementation of related core M&amp;E research and development activities.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will develop approaches and tools based on clear impact pathways, theories of change, outcomes, and indicators of progress.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will work to ensure that proper monitoring and evaluation is carried out at outcome level and for ensuring that projects at AHDI maintain their strategic vision and that all activities result in the achievement of intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>In addition, the M&amp;E Intern will support the M &amp; E manager to build the capacity of project staff in monitoring and evaluation and specifically on how to demonstrate impact.<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will assist Project Managers in preparing quarterly\/annual reports on project progress and will monitor the overall progress of AHDI projects in achieving outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nOperationalize the M&amp;E framework designed for AHDI including and not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing M&amp;E tools for data collection, verification, and management and reporting as well as data audits;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development, design and planning of projects so that\n<ul>\n<li>Projects have a clear and feasible strategy towards impact that is in line with AHDI\u2019s mission and strategy, and<\/li>\n<li>Projects include clearly defined measurable indicators of outputs, outcomes and impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to outcome- and evidence-based strategic decision-making at AHDI and promote a culture of evidence-based learning and adaptation,<\/li>\n<li>Assist Project Managers to develop systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators;<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on monitoring and evaluation exercises for various initiatives for the agency;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct capacity assessments on existing monitoring and evaluation system;<\/li>\n<li>Lead the design and implementation of ex-post and ex-ante evaluations of AHDI\u2019S technologies and interventions using robust methods of impact evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results as well as the sustainability of the project results and report periodically to management team<\/li>\n<li>Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans to improve AHDI programming effectiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Statistics\u00a0 or any other related field;<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software; and<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Key skills &amp; competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software;<\/li>\n<li>Training &amp; facilitation skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to initiate and manage change and to recognize and adjust to rapidly changing conditions;<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to write reports;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook express including financial and statistical packages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Communication Intern<br \/>\nLocation<\/strong>: Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting:<\/strong> Direct report to the Communications Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> Six months preferred but may be extended<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The communications Intern would help build AHDI\u2019s offline and online recognition and profile and assist with the delivery of AHDI\u2019s social media strategy.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will also work closely with program managers and understand their operations.<\/li>\n<li>This is a challenging role with lots of room for creativity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nHelp maintain AHDI\u2019s digital and Online Media presence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Source and draft appropriate, relevant content for AHDI\u2019s social media channels\/handles<\/li>\n<li>Monitor social media and digital news sources<\/li>\n<li>Post relevant updates and information relating to AHDI\u2019s operations<\/li>\n<li>Create regular social media reports to contribute to AHDI\u2019s social media evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Drafting copy for a range of audiences for news items, e-newsletters, and social media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Support Public Relations Activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist Communications Manager in responding to media queries and arranging media interviews<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain AHDI\u2019s database of relevant media and PR contacts<\/li>\n<li>Respond to enquiries received by email and digital channels \u2013 or allocate\/re-direct enquiries as appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job<\/li>\n<li>Abide by all AHDI Policies, Regulations and Procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Note: As duties and responsibilities change, this job description may be reviewed and amended in consultation with the Communications Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Communication, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science\u00a0 or any other related field;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Key Skills &amp;
