Africa<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos, Nigeria<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communications generalists responsible for executing divisional and country specific communication plans in Sub Saharan Africa with internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leads execution of strategies related to external, internal, public affairs and regulatory communications for Sub Saharan Africa division consisting of 33 markets in total and 9 markets as priority<\/li>\n<li>Leads the creation of communication materials for internal and external audiences (e.g. customers, regulators, merchants, media, employees and sales force) and implements communication activities within the division or individual priority countries<\/li>\n<li>Works collaboratively with Middle East and Africa Regional Communications and Worldwide Communications team to implement online communications and work collaboration tools<\/li>\n<li>Ability to determine the right media mix to use in support of planned product\/service launches and corporate announcements<\/li>\n<li>Leads implementation of internal and external communications related to philanthropic programs to increase awareness and drive employee engagement<\/li>\n<li>Networks with stakeholders (e.g. communication departments of banks, merchants, mobile operators, media partners, community leaders and governments)<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a trusted counselor on issues related to communications, executive briefings materials and developing messages\/communications training<\/li>\n<li>Leads projects with agencies and consultants to develop communications plans, materials and events, on a day-to-day basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experiences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated experience and success in delivering and assisting in the development of local Communications programs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated success in leveraging knowledge of industry to create differentiated communications content for multiple channels<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting senior leaders representing company at high profile business conferences and speaking engagements<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Sub Saharan Africa key markets, their culture, media and business environment in \/>\nThe job holder will carry out responsibilities detailed below in the assigned location within West Africa markets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with virtual team of MC subject matter experts to strategically articulate value propositions to close new business opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Develop financial modeling and business cases for identified opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing<\/li>\n<li>Be the responsible \u201cface of MasterCard\u201d to the prospect\/customer through high level interactions with key stakeholders such as senior bank executives, country regulatory contacts, representatives of marketing and card vendors as well as third party processing companies.<\/li>\n<li>Develop sales pipeline leveraging all available resources in coordination with the product development and account management teams<\/li>\n<li>Work with Customer Account Managers and Country Managers to identify opportunities to sell new products to existing customers<\/li>\n<li>Participate in high-level, interactive conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging product opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Analyze customers\u2019 existing business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis and recommend opportunities for additional revenue<\/li>\n<li>Develop long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across debit and credit business lines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Major Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The individual will be responsible for developing a dedicated Issuance plan and strategy across the assigned location<\/li>\n<li>In addition, the successful candidate must have a sound knowledge of the payments industry P&amp;L and how to maximize revenue through an effective issuance strategy.<\/li>\n<li>The individual will support in the development of the allocated location\u2019s Interchange strategies, in collaboration with all regional cross functional teams<\/li>\n<li>The successful candidate will be required to support in the assigned location\u2019s Regulatory dialogue and support Country Management, on all matters relating to national and regional interests.<\/li>\n<li>This individual is the \u2018Go To\u2019 person for Business Development across the assigned location within West Africa ensuring alignment between the location\u2019s \u2018go-to-market\u2019 approaches and the overall MEA Business Development strategy, taking into account the region\u2019s longer term strategic initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Establish new partner\/vendor\/ enabler \/ joint venture integration with capabilities to sustain MasterCard\u2019s competitive advantage and tracking performance against key objectives<\/li>\n<li>This individual will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with Issuers, vendors, the banking industry and the regulators across the assigned location<\/li>\n<li>Fundamental to accelerating the development of the business in the allocated location, is a backbone of strong issuance strategy in partnership with key Banks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree required, MBA preferred.<\/li>\n<li>10+ years experience in the financial services and payments business<\/li>\n<li>Budget preparation and management<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively<\/li>\n<li>Solid solution development skills and effective working both independently and in a team environment<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong client management skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong teamwork skills<\/li>\n<li>Deep business development and marketing experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management, problem solving, analytical and organizational experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in merchant acquiring, retailing and \/ or corporate transactional banking will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders in a multicultural environment across multiple geographic locations<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and presentation skills, extensive experience in communicating in international environment at senior management level<\/li>\n<li>Strong negotiation and influencing skills<\/li>\n<li>Organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional business judgment and strategic
