{"id":62421,"date":"2018-08-21T12:03:53","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T11:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=62421"},"modified":"2018-08-21T12:03:53","modified_gmt":"2018-08-21T11:03:53","slug":"young-readers-library-new-job-position-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/young-readers-library-new-job-position-available.html","title":{"rendered":"Young Readers Library New Job Position Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Young Readers Library \u2013 A book club that ignites the reader within your child, builds language, vocabulary, Comprehension among other skills.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Saturday Book Club Volunteer<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To read to children, support them in completing their journals and perform other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan, organise and implement the Saturday bookclubs at our centres.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and organise the set up of any equipment or resources for sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the children with completing their journals<\/li>\n<li>Any other associated tasks as required for the role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience Required \/ Desired<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to cope with the duties and responsibilities of the post and the associated environment, including an understanding of health &amp; safety.<\/li>\n<li>Corp members are encouraged to apply<\/li>\n<li>The ability to communicate effectively, verbally with library staff, other volunteers and members of the public, especially children.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience of working with children and participating in children\u2019s activities.<\/li>\n<li>Reliable, confident and responsible individual, with enthusiasm and effective interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Training Available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A one morning induction and introduction to the library and Library Services.<\/li>\n<li>Shadowing sessions with other library staff to gain confidence and knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Other Requirements:<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 2 months commitment is required.<\/li>\n<li>A credible reference will be needed as the role involves interaction with children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Transport Allowance will be given.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer appreciation certificate will be given at the end of the volunteer service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should forward their Applications to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:career@youngreaderslibrary.org.ng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>career@youngreaderslibrary.org.ng<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>27th August, 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Young Readers Library \u2013 A book club that ignites the reader within your child, builds language, vocabulary, Comprehension among other skills.
