With joining MainOne you\u2019ll be challenged, inspired and proud as you become a part of something big.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Transmission Technician\/Rigger<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Ikeja, Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Technical<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Transmission Technician\/Rigger will be responsible for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic understanding of GPON technologies and supports.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to support nationwide TMS vendors on link restorations in all regions.<\/li>\n<li>Testing and Commissioning of Microwave links(Ceragon, Ubiquity, Dragonwave and Cambium).<\/li>\n<li>Comply with company Occupational Health &amp; Safety requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Previous background of using specific harnesses and fall-arrest systems.<\/li>\n<li>Testing of earth reading(ER) at sites.<\/li>\n<li>Timely and accurate completion of all reports as required by field supervisors.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating installation activities with Vendors to ensure proper installation was carried out.<\/li>\n<li>Installation of transmission equipment on site as well as powering up.<\/li>\n<li>Providing progress reports on installation to all stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Use of Ethernet tester to carry out Y1544 as well as bandwidth test on newly provisioned links.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Skills &amp; Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication.<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Innovative, proactive and flexible.<\/li>\n<li>Must be mechanically inclined. Construction, climbing, and rigging experience is necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Ability and desire to climb heights up to 500 feet daily \u2013 Good physical condition and state.<\/li>\n<li>Have proven, relevant work experience.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform Telecom Rigger role.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to applicable Health &amp; Safety laws, policies and best practice guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Great team working skills \u2013 the ability to work as a team on the same site \/ engineering project.<\/li>\n<li>Good technical background with a solid understanding of mobile and wireless projects.<\/li>\n<li>OND in Computer science\/Electrical Electronics Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Years of Experience: 3 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Demand on the Job:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working at late and odd \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Technical<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical support for the network provisioning, installation and tech sales, sales engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Provide the planning, implementation, and coordination of DWDM, SDH, Ethernet and OTN\u00a0 network maintenance and restoration activities<\/li>\n<li>supervise and\u00a0 provide support to\u00a0 vendor during the POC\u00a0 installation and testing.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain technical documentation and database information for networks resources and circuits.<\/li>\n<li>Network planning and design including network protection schemes, network synchronization, and bandwidth availability and utilization.<\/li>\n<li>Circuit design as per customer specifications including circuit protection, transport network selection, and interworking across networks.<\/li>\n<li>Capacity planning and management of available and utilized bandwidth on the DWDM, SDH, Metro Ethernet GPON and OTN networks.<\/li>\n<li>Planning, selection, upgrade, and evaluation of the networking equipment used in the DWDM, SONET, and TDM networks.<\/li>\n<li>Research and investigation of new DWDM, SDH, metro Ethernet and GPON\u00a0 network elements and features<\/li>\n<li>Provide\u00a0 3rd level\u00a0 technical support for diagnosing and resolving repeated network equipment issues.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all NNI with third party providers and customers are protected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Skills &amp; Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work with minimum supervision<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and reporting skills<\/li>\n<li>Ownership and initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Good troubleshooting and problem resolution skills<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge and experience with DWDM, OTN, Metro Ethernet SDH and GPON technology<\/li>\n<li>Experience with researching, investigating, evaluating, and qualifying potential new equipment for network deployment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of fiber optic transmission and transmission systems, and electrical cabling and transmission systems.<\/li>\n<li>Good organizational and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to evaluate, and articulate the cost trade-offs associated with various network and circuit implementations.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience with network synchronization and timing distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience with Microsoft software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage with
