Our mission is to provide aid as quickly and as efficiently as possible to endangered populations by meeting their vital needs: drinking water, food and shelter.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Purchasing Officer<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Maiduguri, Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Beginning of Contract:<\/strong>\u00a015th October, 2018<br \/>\n<strong>Contract duration:<\/strong> 3 months (with possibility of extension)<br \/>\n<strong>Probation period:<\/strong> 1 month<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mission\/Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The purchase officer carries out the purchases for the programs and structure for his\/her assigned base.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she is one of the guarantors for implementing and respecting Solidarit\u00e9s International purchase procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main Task<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge and monitoring of the market:Take part in the analysis of the local purchasing environment<\/li>\n<li>Update price lists and supplier files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Implementation of purchasing process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that products purchased correspond to the requirements of the purchase officer\u2019s requirements in terms of quantity and quality<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the format of, and information on quotes and invoices comply with regulations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with administrative procedures for the management of advances and payment of suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Establish and archive purchasing files in accordance with the rules of Solidarit\u00e9s International and its donors<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and update IOFs electronically.<\/li>\n<li>Receive and process requests for quotes and IOFs after verification and approval by his\/her line manager<\/li>\n<li>Implement purchases while respecting the rules and approval\u00a0 procedures established by donors and Solidarit\u00e9s International<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting\/Capitalization<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the compilation of price lists and suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the monitoring of IOF requests and inform purchase officers of the status of their orders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.Sc\/HND in Business Admin\/Economics\/Marketing or related<\/li>\n<li>Languages: English, Hausa (Kanuri a plus)<\/li>\n<li>Professional experience: 1 year of experience in similar position (NGO\/Private or Public sector)<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office ( Excel and Word skills).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Personal abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reliable, honest, very good organization, good knowledge of the local market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary and Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In accordance with SI\u2019s Terms of Employment; for national staff in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Applications (CV and suitability statement as a single attachment) to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr.coo.assist@solidarites-nigeria.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>hr.coo.assist@solidarites-nigeria.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0.
