Christian Aid works in more than 30 countries and has been operating in Nigeria since 2003. The Nigeria Country programme focuses on Community Health and HIV, Accountable Governance including humanitarian response and Gender.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Programme Finance Coordinator<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Finance Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Type of contract:<\/strong> Fixed Term<br \/>\n<strong>Contracted hours:<\/strong> 35<br \/>\n<strong>Contract length:<\/strong> 1 year<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nRole purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This role will be responsible for partner financial management with a strong focus on ensuring compliance on all Christian Aid funding and reporting conditions as well as donor requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The role will lead on the partner finance function as it relates to Christian Aid. This includes review and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring that Partner Capacity Risk assessments are conducted and that clear capacity development plans are developed and followed through to reduce the risks of mismanagement or misuse of funds. The role holder will ensure that all<\/li>\n<li>transactions relating to partners are posted into our accounting system and PROMISE and that Christian Aid complies with all KPI\u2019s as it relates to partner management and compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role context<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Based in the Country Office in Abuja, this role is part of the wider CA Nigeria Team. The Programme Finance Coordinator reports directly to the Finance Manager and will have line management of at least 2 Programme Finance Officers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In collaboration with Finance Manager, commission project audit and ensuring issues raised by auditors relating to project are resolved promptly.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that financial reports are stored on Christian Aid\u2019s Program Management Information System (PROMISE) in line with CA requirements.<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with other colleagues, budgets are prepared and monitored for donor projects as and when due and submitted to relevant stakeholders within and outside the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Project financial information is entered accurately into Christian Aids accounting software in line with the Finance Team monthly timetable.<\/li>\n<li>Partner Organisational Capacity Risk Assessments (POCRA\u2019s) are conducted on all partners and capacity gaps are clearly identified and fed into a development plan.<\/li>\n<li>Christian Aid staff, partners and consultants complies with Christian Aid\u2019s and institutional donors\u2019 policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Relationships:<br \/>\nExternal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relationships with local partners and Institutional donors. Represents Christian Aid and the programme externally with partners, other NGOs, donors and other agencies. Appraise, monitor and review programme in line with CA and donor requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Internal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The position is line managed by the Finance Manager and will in turn line manage the Programme Finance Coordinators. The role links up strongly with the Senior Programme Coordinators working on the various projects, the Grants and Compliance Coordinators etc.<\/li>\n<li>This role will have contact with other members of the Country office, auditors (internal and external) as well as the international finance team based in London.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Decision Making<\/strong><br \/>\n(Accountability, level of decision making and impact of them, authority to make decisions, how often, responsibility for resources)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This role is expected to work in close collaboration with Finance Manager and Senior Programme Coordinators to deliver financial information to Christian Aid and\/or donors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Analytical skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to review financial information alongside programme objectives and outputs to ensure that CA delivers strongly on all identified targets.<\/li>\n<li>A strong understanding of partner financial management and financial reporting to donors is essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Developing self and others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuously look for opportunities for self-development. Give and receive honest and open feedback in a timely manner.
