{"id":64953,"date":"2018-10-03T16:30:45","date_gmt":"2018-10-03T15:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=64953"},"modified":"2018-10-03T13:39:41","modified_gmt":"2018-10-03T12:39:41","slug":"ehealth-africa-vacant-job-position-share-apply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/ehealth-africa-vacant-job-position-share-apply.html","title":{"rendered":"eHealth Africa Vacant Job Position &#8211; Share &#038; Apply!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>eHealth Africa designs and implements data-driven solutions and technologies to improve health systems for and with local communities. eHA\u2019s technology works in low connectivity settings, and smartly uses data to drive decision-making by local governments and partner agencies to get optimum results.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Registered Nurse<br \/>\nLocation<\/strong>: Kano,<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> eHA Clinic<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Full-Time National Employee<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients across the healthcare continuum involving families.<\/li>\n<li>Duties include but are not limited to, managing patients with various medical cases.<\/li>\n<li>The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect care for assigned patients in various nursing units and home visits per scheduled shift.<\/li>\n<li>The Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for professional performance and safe patient care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll do<\/strong><br \/>\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operate all unit-required equipment safely.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure availability and maintenance of supplies and equipment needed for the unit and patient care.<\/li>\n<li>Accountable for the use of patients\u2019 and hospital\u2019s resources.<\/li>\n<li>Accountable to the patient, the organization, the profession and self.<\/li>\n<li>Perform clerical duties when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Provide basic life support when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Administer medications, monitor desirable and undesirable effects and intervene appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that patients are provided with appropriate nutrition.<\/li>\n<li>Manage patients with infectious diseases when applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Manage pediatric patients with infectious diseases when applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Travel to patients\u2019 homes to deliver care as required.<\/li>\n<li>Strictly follow clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures set by the clinic management.<\/li>\n<li>Perform patient assessment using appropriate, problem focused, and age-specific assessment techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze the assessment data, derive nursing interventions, set priorities according to patients needs, formulate a plan of care, implement and evaluate the outcome.<\/li>\n<li>Document all relevant data in the electronic medical record according to clinic standards.<\/li>\n<li>Treat patients and families with care and respect while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Involve the patient, significant others, and health care providers in the plan of care when appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other disciplines through multidisciplinary meetings and care conferences to facilitate patient care and operations.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate appropriate discharge plan.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize subtle cues to anticipate potential problems.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate required assessment and therapeutic skills.<\/li>\n<li>Implement and monitor infection control measures.<\/li>\n<li>Apply safety measures related to patient care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Patient &amp; Family Education\/Support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in voluntary community health activities to promote, maintain and restore health and prevent diseases.<\/li>\n<li>Adheres to Policies and Procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Adheres to eHealth Africa Code of Conduct as well as ethical standards of the field.<\/li>\n<li>Provide emotional support and measures to alleviate fear and anxiety.<\/li>\n<li>Assess patient and family readiness and identifying learning needs.<\/li>\n<li>Lead\/encourage multidisciplinary approach for patient\u2019s discharge.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement the teaching plan utilizing patient education manual.<\/li>\n<li>Document patient and family education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who you are<\/strong><br \/>\nThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and\/or ability required to successfully perform this job:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge and skills to provide vaccination.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and skills to perform minor trauma care including suturing, plaster casting, I&amp;D, debridement etc.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and skills to stabilize trauma patients prior to transport to higher level of care.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in using a computer for patient care, documentation and communication.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership skills that include the ability to build effective teams, ability to motivate others, delegate, and make timely\/quality decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency working within specialized software utilized in program.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree of Nursing from an accredited nursing college, University with High Distinction (Top 10% of graduating class).<\/li>\n<li>Must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 24 months in a 20+ bed hospital in the last 3 years.<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least 3 years of postgraduate nursing experience in an accredited University Teaching, Federal Medical Centre or International hospital.<\/li>\n<li>Hold and maintain a current nursing license to practice in Nigeria..<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pass a written knowledge test and interview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Customer Service Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to review, analyze and respond to different situation they encounter daily.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to think critically in adapting to change, judging situations and taking appropriate decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent customer service skills and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to plan and perform daily activities in an organized manner.<\/li>\n<li>Must be kind, compassionate, dedicated and patient.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to handle different kinds of emotions as well as manage on the job stress.<\/li>\n<li>Must be focused, very detailed and be creative in making decision.<\/li>\n<li>Must be physically and mentally stable to handle extended shifts as well as mental pressure and traumatic events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work Environment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EHA Clinic work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
