At KPMG, we are committed to working with our clients to cut through complexities of the business world \u2013 finding solutions and adding value.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Chief Operating Officer (Upstream)<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Chief Operating Officer coordinates and directs the overall operations of the asset. He\/she will be responsible for the operating expenditure on the project and the maximization of the asset value. The individual will be responsible for strategy formulation and implementation of the JV\u2019s long and short-term goals.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she will build necessary relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to achieve success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nBusiness Planner:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish required strategic objectives and operational plans for the JV to implement its 5 Year Business Plan as well as communicate such plans to key stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Review and evaluate the threats and risks to the successful implementation of the plan and prepare required strategies to mitigate and manage such risks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Market Strategist:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and promote potential investment\/asset acquisition opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Business Performance Monitor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all commercial objectives are met within schedule<\/li>\n<li>Set targets of business and operational performance for front line managers and ensure that such targets are cascaded down to staff<\/li>\n<li>Ensure cost effective operations with a high focus on productivity, reliability and commercial viability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Relationship Manager:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand all stakeholder expectations and formulate plans to address those expectations<\/li>\n<li>Work with department Heads in developing and managing relationships with third parties as with community leaders<\/li>\n<li>Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as DPR, NAPIMS, and Environmental Agencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Corporate Image Manager:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan and develop industrial, labor, and public relations policies designed to improve the JV\u2019s image and relations with employees, investors, industrial unions, host communities and the general public\u00b7<\/li>\n<li>Network with key industry players and relevant government functionaries create a positive identification for the JV.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology or any other relevant discipline;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 -18 years relevant experience;<\/li>\n<li>Technical experience garnered while working for reputable indigenous E &amp; P companies;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in some or all of the following areas:<\/li>\n<li>Asset custody transfer management;<\/li>\n<li>Production;<\/li>\n<li>Reservoir engineering;<\/li>\n<li>Well engineering;<\/li>\n<li>Health, safety and environment, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kpmgng.avature.net\/careers\/JobDetail\/Lagos-Nigeria-CHIEF-OPERATING-OFFICER-Upstream\/120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0JV Accountant (Upstream)<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nOverview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The chosen candidate will be responsible for taking on a senior role in financial decision-making that affects the JV and will provide strategic financial input to senior management.<\/li>\n<li>While keenly overseeing the overall accounting process, the successful JV Accountant will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the JV.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained<\/li>\n<li>Support the COO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans<\/li>\n<li>Execute the financial strategy of the JV<\/li>\n<li>Manage financial controls and accounting procedures<\/li>\n<li>Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the JV<\/li>\n<li>Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs<\/li>\n<li>Source funding for specific JV needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years\u2019 experience in a project accounting position with a producing player in the Nigeria upstream sector<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills, including proficiency in MS office suite and ERP systems<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field<\/li>\n<li>Professional accounting designation (ACA, ACCA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kpmgng.avature.net\/careers\/JobDetail\/Lagos-Nigeria-JV-ACCOUNTANT-Upstream\/121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KPMG Professional Services is the KPMG member firm in Nigeria.
