At BASF, careers develop from opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Environment, Health &amp; Safety Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID:<\/strong> 40023<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong>Job Field:<\/strong> Environment, Health &amp; Safety<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you can expect<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsible for the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment programs, including relevant regulatory compliance, and the requirements of Responsible Care Systems in BASF sites located in Lagos, Nigeria. This position also provides support and advice in regards to security &amp; crisis management for West Africa. Core responsibilities will include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitating in the investigation of all incidents and accidents, together with appropriate preventive and corrective actions in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Identifying EHS training needs of Ilupeju site personnel and, in conjunction with line managers, ensure all training is completed as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Conducting HSE management system reviews internally and externally based on Responsible Care, Transport and Distribution Safety, Process Safety<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinating Occupational Medicine &amp; Health Protection programs, particularly medical examinations, travel medicine, first aid provision and health surveillance on specific hazardous substance exposures<\/li>\n<li>Deputize for other HSEQ team members in absences, provide out of hours first response in case of incidents and accidents.\u00a0 Acts as the local TDS advisor for Transport and Distribution Safety<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Country Cluster Head in all security related topics such as, consultation for Delegates and Travelers<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the BASF West Africa management team with the development &amp; implementation of strategies for the site\u2019s environmental, health &amp; safety to ensure compliance with legal and BASF guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining effective technical functions with specific expertise in the areas of product development\/modification, customer<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating in the implementation of the BASF Responsible Care Programs including HSE directives, standards and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Providing expert advice, judgement and analysis in regulatory compliance and due diligence programs<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating all local, regional and global reporting requirements, in ensuring accurate, consistent and reliable data are reported in a timely manner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we expect<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formal qualification and knowledge of EHS (e.g. OHS Act) Legislation and related SANS codes is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Formal qualification in SHEQ systems (SAMTRAC, NEBOSH TQM, etc.) will be advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Tertiary qualification in Science or Technical field<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 4 \u2013 8 years\u2019 experience in an EHS position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/basf.jobs\/job\/Lagos-EHS-and-Security-Manager-null\/500563201\/?feedId=111101&amp;src=LinkedIn_Slots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BASF \u2013 We are the world\u2019s leading chemical company because we offer intelligent solutions for our customers and for a sustainable future.
