We build trust and understanding between different countries and cultures and develop strong international links that are of benefit to people in Britain and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance Support Intern<br \/>\nLocation<\/strong>: Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Finance<br \/>\n<strong>Job Category:<\/strong> Internship<br \/>\n<strong>Pay Band:<\/strong> Attachment<br \/>\n<strong>Post Duration:<\/strong> 6 months<br \/>\n<strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Right to live and work in Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nDuties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder the overall guidance of the Accountant, the intern(s) duties will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the Accountant in carrying out pre-banking activities<\/li>\n<li>Any other task as reasonably requested by the Accountant or Senior member of the Finance team<\/li>\n<li>Scanning of invoices after due diligence has been performed by the Accountant<\/li>\n<li>Proper filing of finance related documents such as scanned invoices and tax documents<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Accountant in monthly tax remittance and filing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Learning and development opportunities for the intern:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General understanding of the work and mission of the British Council and how it contributes to the development of the Education system in Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Insight and hands-on experience in day-to-day Accounting systems and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Becoming familiar with working in an International Organization and in a multicultural environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Management and Support for the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The intern will report to Accountant based in Abuja.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he will be expected to work closely with other members of the Finance team and key internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements\/Profile<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ideal candidate should:\n<ul>\n<li>Be a recent graduate (graduated within the last 2 years) with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask<\/li>\n<li>Have strong written and oral communication skills in English;<\/li>\n<li>Be computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<li>Have an interest in Financial Accounting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in an Accounting role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nThe intern will be paid equivalent N50,000 per month.<br \/>\n<strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.britishcouncil.org\/Vacancies\/W\/1639\/0\/207771\/5448\/finance-support-intern-abuja\/Referral?utm_source=external&amp;utm_term=sub-saharan-africa-nigeria-abuja-finance-internship-attachment&amp;utm_content=finance-support-intern-abuja&amp;utm_campaign=british-council-recruitment&amp;utm_medium=AtsViewLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>8th November, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Note<\/strong>: This is a short-term intern position; intern roles are not a prelude to longer term employment with the organisation.
