{"id":66817,"date":"2018-11-07T16:10:49","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T15:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=66817"},"modified":"2018-11-07T15:53:25","modified_gmt":"2018-11-07T14:53:25","slug":"u-s-mission-ongoing-recruitment-apply-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/u-s-mission-ongoing-recruitment-apply-now.html","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Mission Ongoing Recruitment &#8211; Apply Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Mission in Lagos, Nigeria is seeking to employ eligible and qualified candidates for the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Non-Immigrant\/ Immigrant Visa Assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Announcement Number:<\/strong> Lagos-2018-072<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Series\/Grade:<\/strong> LE \u2013 1405 8<br \/>\n<strong>Security Clearance Required:<\/strong> Public Trust \u2013 Background Investigation<br \/>\n<strong>Appointment Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Appointment Type Details:<\/strong> Indefinite subject to successful completion of probationary period<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time (40 hours per week)<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong> Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and\/or clearances\/certifications or their candidacy may end.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incumbent performs the complex task of processing the full range of non-immigrant and immigrant visas for Nigerian citizens and third-country nationals.<\/li>\n<li>S\/he refers only unusual, complex or questionable cases to the Team Lead, LES Staff supervisor, or Consular Officer.<\/li>\n<li>Incumbent will be one of the four rotating visa unit team members, who share duties over the course of the year within the Visa Unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Evaluations<\/strong><br \/>\nRequirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience: Three years of customer service work experience in the application of regulatory material or processes is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Job Knowledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must develop a detailed knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Must develop a thorough understanding of all computer-based Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) and Immigrant Visa Overseas (IVO) programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Education Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Pre-Law, Communications, or Social Science field is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evaluations<\/strong><br \/>\nThese may be tested:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Language:\u00a0 Level IV (fluent) speaking\/reading\/writing in English is required. Level IV (fluent) speaking\/reading\/writing in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to work under pressure and prioritize work to meet team requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as proficiency in keyboard, data entry skills, with the ability to type 25 WPM with 90% accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to draft correspondence, be tactful and apply sound judgement in dealing with the public and maintain appropriate confidentiality is
