CRS programs assist persons on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality. CRS works through local church and non-church partners to implement its programs, therefore, strengthening and building the capacity of these partner organizations is fundamental to programs in every country in which CRS operates. CRS re-established presence in Nigeria in 2000 and currently focuses on vulnerable children, agriculture, health and HIV, extractives and governance, and peace building programming.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Chief of Party, Rural Resilience Program<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Req Number:<\/strong> I4504<br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Based in Abuja, with travel among field locations in Nigeria.<br \/>\n<strong>Position Status:<\/strong> Regular<br \/>\n<strong>Position Type:<\/strong> Full time<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To:<\/strong> Deputy Country Representative, Emergency and Early Recovery<br \/>\n<strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CRS is preparing for an anticipated multi-million dollar, multi-year USAID\/Nigeria Rural Resilience Program, which will support poverty reduction for vulnerable households in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>This effort will contribute to CRS\u2019 agriculture and livelihoods signature program area and ongoing efforts to promote resilience, recovery and development within Nigeria and neighboring countries around the Lake Chad Basin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Chief of Party (COP) will have overall responsibility for the Rural Resilience Program.<\/li>\n<li>Responsibilities include meeting project objectives and deliverables while providing overall leadership in technical, administrative, operational, and management aspects.<\/li>\n<li>The COP will act as the primary relationship manager for the project with USAID\/Nigeria, Government of Nigeria, partners and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide overall strategic guidance, leadership, management and general technical oversight of the entire program, with a strong focus on achieving defined results.<\/li>\n<li>Lead, manage, supervise and mentor program staff and consortium partners.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure high-quality monitoring and evaluation of program impact and timely submission of donor reports and deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with CRS and USAID policies and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Act as the key liaison with USAID, Government of Nigeria, all implementing partners and stakeholders involved with the program.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the program and present its work nationally and globally to CRS leadership, the donor, partners, and other stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in International Development, Management, Agriculture, Economics or other relevant field. PhD preferred.<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 years of international management experience<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations, and partners.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing programmatic and financial reporting requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with USAID rules, regulations and requirements is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa required.
