Since its founding in 1977, Creative has earned a solid reputation among its clients and is well-regarded by competitors and partners alike.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Communications Officer \u2013 Northern Education Initiative Plus (The Initiative)<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja, Nigeria<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nProject Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commencing in October2015 under funding support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the five-year Northern Education Initiative Plus (the Initiative) project is strengthening the ability of Bauchi and Sokoto states to provide greater access to basic education-especially for girls and Out-of-School-Children (OOSC) \u2013 and to significantly improve reading outcomes for more than one million school-aged children and youths.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reporting&amp; Supervision:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is in Abuja, Nigeria with frequent travel to Bauchi and Sokoto states reporting to the Communications Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creates content and analyze project\u2019s social media and web channels.<\/li>\n<li>Develops reports for social media accounts and campaigns.<\/li>\n<li>Researches and implements new trends, techniques and technologies that are relevant to project\/program media strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Is proficient at all media channels and in media measurement for each channel. Resolves any day to day issues, escalating when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Contributes to multi-discipline meetings, lending media and technology expertise and contributing to overall discussion.<\/li>\n<li>Creates and implements communications outreach activities for the dissemination of information on project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Creates and implements public relations programs to release positive publicity about the program through various media.<\/li>\n<li>Promotes communication to the USAID Mission about the project for dissemination on Mission web pages or to other USAID Missions and to HQ for publication in newsletters and web.<\/li>\n<li>Writes news releases, success stories, daily reports, weekly reports, quarterly reports, and other project documents.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises and arranges taking, processing and disseminating photographs: prepares and disseminates radio and television material; produces posters, signs, displays, media campaigns, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in use of social media for development.<\/li>\n<li>Media experience especially in radio and television.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in Hausa is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Communications or related field.<\/li>\n<li>3+ years\u2019 experience in communications, preferably for a USAID-funded project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Resume\/CV to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruiting@crea-neiplus.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>recruiting@crea-neiplus.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with \u201cCommunication Officers\u201d in the email Subject line<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline\u00a0<\/strong>17th November, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only finalists will be contacted.
