We are looking for young people from all over the world interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism program with an international broadcaster. Candidates should have journalism experience or be passionate about switching to journalism from technology\/IT, economics or the sciences. We are looking for open-minded people full of creative ideas. The program covers the range of skills a journalist of the future needs: TV moderation, multimedia storytelling, data journalism, social media and virtual reality \u2013 in seminars, workshops and of course the DW editorial offices and our correspondent bureaux in Washington, Moscow and Brussels. DW trainees are involved in long-term innovative, international projects and have been honored in past years with the CNN Journalism Award and the Grimme Prize. After the traineeship, the trainees usually continue to work for DW.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
At Deutsche Welle\u2019s newly-designed journalism traineeship, we\u2019re looking for inquisitive, open-minded and critical young candidates who view journalism as a passion rather than a profession. As an up-coming trainee of Germany\u2019s international broadcaster, you\u2019re someone who feels at home in a global community and questions assumptions and stereotypes. Above all, you\u2019re someone with a talent for languages.<\/p>\n
Prerequisites for DW\u2019s international journalism traineeship<\/strong><\/p>\n
1. Language skills<\/strong> \nwe are seeking native speakers of DW broadcast languages. Non-English or non-German native speakers need excellent English skills and a good working knowledge of German. We are also looking for English native speakers with a good working knowledge of German and at least one other DW broadcast language or German native speakers with excellent English skills who would be comfortable reporting in English and also have a good working knowledge of at least one other DW broadcast language.
