We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n
Job Title:\u00a0Medical Doctor \nLocations:\u00a0<\/strong>Ngala, Diwka, Magumeri \u2013 Borno State \u2013 with travel to other activity sites. \nReporting to:<\/strong> Clinical Supervisor \nStatus:<\/strong> Full time \nDuration:<\/strong> 6 months (with possibility of extension) \nStarting date:<\/strong> As soon as possible \n \nPurpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Manager, s\/he will provide professional<\/li>\n
technical advice input in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their<\/li>\n
communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population<\/li>\n
Provide outpatient and\/or inpatient medical care to patients\/beneficiaries according to adapted<\/li>\n
and updated medical knowledge, existing and validated protocols, values and universal hygiene<\/li>\n
standards to improve the patients\/beneficiary\u2019s health conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Responsibilities<\/strong> \nManagement of the Health and Nutrition Program \u2013 Clinic:<\/p>\n
\n
Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention. Carry out outpatient and\/or inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting protocols\u00a0in targeted HF and in mobile clinic activities.<\/li>\n
Knows and ensures all medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and\u00a0improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected<\/li>\n
To assess and make the necessary arrangements for patients who need advanced care that is not available at INTERSOS health facility and have to be referred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Management:<\/p>\n
\n
Assist in response and management of any health and nutrition emergency and\u00a0participate in the development of disaster preparedness systems.<\/li>\n
Promote mother infant and young child feeding best practices in various health facilities.<\/li>\n
Participate actively in planned program Rapid Health and Nutrition assessment\/surveys.<\/li>\n
Review personnel issues and concerns of health and nutrition staff and assist with determining and implementing solutions.<\/li>\n
Participate in recruitment of health and nutrition program staff as appropriate.<\/li>\n
Supervise the use of materials, equipment and supplies for the intervention.<\/li>\n
Identify opportunities for program development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes<\/strong> \nEssential:<\/p>\n
\n
Bachelor\u2019s university degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited university.<\/li>\n
Two years of relevant professional work experience, including in a developing country, in public health and nutrition.<\/li>\n
Background\/familiarity with Emergency.<\/li>\n
Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Kanuri and Hausa Languages will be an advantage<\/li>\n
Strong interpersonal and team building skills and excellence as a team player.<\/li>\n
Must possess the ability to learn with speed and ease.<\/li>\n
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, power point presentation etc.)<\/li>\n
Strong sense of responsibility, methodical and accurate with high organizational skills<\/li>\n
Honesty and integrity and able to cope with stressful situations.<\/li>\n
Manages effectively his own time as well as flexible and available to work over time when needed<\/li>\n
Willing to be deployed to the newly liberated local government areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
