Its activities are based on the principles of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equality of rights and opportunities, and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying special attention to the most vulnerable and unprotected people.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Medical Doctor<br \/>\nLocations:\u00a0<\/strong>Ngala, Diwka, Magumeri \u2013 Borno State \u2013 with travel to other activity sites.<br \/>\n<strong>Reporting to:<\/strong> Clinical Supervisor<br \/>\n<strong>Status:<\/strong> Full time<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong> 6 months (with possibility of extension)<br \/>\n<strong>Starting date:<\/strong> As soon as possible<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPurpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Manager, s\/he will provide professional<\/li>\n<li>technical advice input in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their<\/li>\n<li>communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population<\/li>\n<li>Provide outpatient and\/or inpatient medical care to patients\/beneficiaries according to adapted<\/li>\n<li>and updated medical knowledge, existing and validated protocols, values and universal hygiene<\/li>\n<li>standards to improve the patients\/beneficiary\u2019s health conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nManagement of the Health and Nutrition Program \u2013 Clinic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention. Carry out outpatient and\/or inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting protocols\u00a0in targeted HF and in mobile clinic activities.<\/li>\n<li>Knows and ensures all medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and\u00a0improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected<\/li>\n<li>To assess and make the necessary arrangements for patients who need advanced care that is not available at INTERSOS health facility and have to be referred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in response and management of any health and nutrition emergency and\u00a0participate in the development of disaster preparedness systems.<\/li>\n<li>Promote mother infant and young child feeding best practices in various health facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Participate actively in planned program Rapid Health and Nutrition assessment\/surveys.<\/li>\n<li>Review personnel issues and concerns of health and nutrition staff and assist with determining and implementing solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in recruitment of health and nutrition program staff as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the use of materials, equipment and supplies for the intervention.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for program development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Experience and Attributes<\/strong><br \/>\nEssential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s university degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited university.<\/li>\n<li>Two years of relevant professional work experience, including in a developing country, in public health and nutrition.<\/li>\n<li>Background\/familiarity with Emergency.<\/li>\n<li>Good command of written and spoken English. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, performing consultations and other minor medical procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient\u2019s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), and\u00a0reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise.
