With joining MainOne you\u2019ll be challenged, inspired and proud as you become a part of something big.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Head, Transmission Planning<br \/>\nLocation<\/strong>: Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Technical<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head, Transmission Planning will be responsible for Transmission Network design, engineering, network expansion to meet growth and business requirements and conforming to ITU-T standards and meeting the policies and regulations of Telecom Regulators.<\/li>\n<li>The scope will cover the whole of Main One network in Nigeria, Ghana, Portugal and UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Job Functions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the requisite planning and engineering documentation to ensure quality implementation and effective operations.<\/li>\n<li>Efficient and timely initiation of vendor selection for network expansion and for deployment of new products and solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Microwave link design conforming to NCC approved frequency channels and bands as well as the prescribed availability and reliability criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely and cost effective capacity design and planning of transmission network for capacity growth (DWDM, SDH, Microwave, Metro Ethernet\/Packet &amp; GPON), for core and access networks.<\/li>\n<li>Evolve network in line with business objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure CAPEX spent is optimized to meet business requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance to the policies and regulations of Telecom Regulators.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure operational delivery of not less than 99.95% for 100% of core network.<\/li>\n<li>Engineer core network infrastructure for 100% uptime with redundancy\/ failover.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure efficient allocation of circuit and equipment resources and efficient routing.<\/li>\n<li>Planning and implementation of new PoPs to meet the business expansion requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Provide timely Transmission network resources for meeting the IP\/ NGN network requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Optimize sparing policy and ensure vendor support (including finalizing vendor contracts) to minimize MTTR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Skills &amp; Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A strong working knowledge of microwave transmission, DWDM\/ SDH\/ PDH\/ IP networks and related protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Successful project management experience leading a team of minimum 5 engineers.<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of SLA requirements to ensure quality of service to customers.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to network management systems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interpret topography and network design maps.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to Submarine optic fiber cable systems will be desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree or Equivalent in Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 12 years work experience in Planning, Implementation, Operation and Maintenance of Optical &amp; Microwave Transmission networks.<\/li>\n<li>A broad operational experience of network planning, engineering, implementation and operations &amp; maintenance in the above mentioned fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Demand on the Job:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategic thinking and problem solving ability.<\/li>\n<li>Result oriented, strong commitment to provide high quality service to internal and external customers.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent listening, and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Research &amp; writing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership &amp; team management skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/career.mainone.net\/vacancies\/view\/56\/SMHTP-TECH-0027\/head-transmission-planning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MainOne\u2019s success is built on having talented and highly proficient people within their respective fields as the driving force behind our business A job in MainOne is different from any&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10164,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[26],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>MainOne Cable Ongoing Recruitment - Share &amp; Apply!
