{"id":68912,"date":"2018-12-17T10:00:48","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T09:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=68912"},"modified":"2018-12-14T11:33:13","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T10:33:13","slug":"commonwealth-split-site-scholarships-low-middle-income-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/commonwealth-split-site-scholarships-low-middle-income-countries.html","title":{"rendered":"Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships (For Low And Middle Income Countries)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships are for PhD candidates from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries, to spend up to 12 months at a UK university as part of their doctoral studies in their home country.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-international-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK Department for International Development (DFID)<\/a>, Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. These scholarships are offered under six themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Science and technology for development<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening health systems and capacity<\/li>\n<li>Promoting global prosperity<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening global peace, security and governance<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening resilience and response to crises<\/li>\n<li>Access, inclusion and opportunity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Split-site Scholarships are now open<\/p>\n<p>These scholarships are for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants who are citizens of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person<\/li>\n<li>12 months study at a UK university as part of an applicant\u2019s doctoral studies in their home country, starting in October 2019<\/li>\n<li>Applicants who are registered (or will be registered by September 2019) for a PhD at a university in an eligible Commonwealth country<\/li>\n<li>Study at a UK university with which your home university has an established institutional or departmental link.<\/li>\n<li>Study at a UK university which has a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cscuk.dfid.gov.uk\/apply\/uk-universities\/part-funding\/\">part funding agreement with the CSC<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Full eligibility criteria is included in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cscuk.dfid.gov.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/terms-conditions-split-site-scholarships-2019-PDF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terms and conditions<\/a>\u00a0on page 2.\u00a0<\/strong>Please read\u00a0<strong>all sections<\/strong>\u00a0of the terms and conditions before applying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible Commonwealth countries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Antigua and Barbuda<br \/>\nBangladesh<br \/>\nBelize<br \/>\nBotswana<br \/>\nCameroon<br \/>\nDominica<br \/>\nEswatini<br \/>\nFiji<br \/>\nGhana<br \/>\nGrenada<br \/>\nGuyana<br \/>\nIndia<br \/>\nJamaica<br \/>\nKenya<br \/>\nKiribati<br \/>\nLesotho<br \/>\nMalawi<br \/>\nMalaysia<br \/>\nMauritius<br \/>\nMontserrat<br \/>\nMozambique<br \/>\nNamibia<br \/>\nNauru<br \/>\nNigeria<br \/>\nPakistan<br \/>\nPapua New Guinea<br \/>\nRwanda<br \/>\nSt Helena<br \/>\nSt Lucia<br \/>\nSt Vincent and the Grenadines<br \/>\nSamoa<br \/>\nSierra Leone<br \/>\nSolomon Islands<br \/>\nSouth Africa<br \/>\nSri Lanka<br \/>\nTanzania<br \/>\nThe Gambia<br \/>\nTonga<br \/>\nTuvalu<br \/>\nUganda<br \/>\nVanuatu<br \/>\nZambia<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must make your application directly to the CSC using the CSC\u2019s online application system. The CSC will not accept any applications that are not submitted via the online application system. You are not required to apply via a nominating body for these scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>Only one application per applicant for these scholarships will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Application deadline:\u00a0Your application must be submitted by\u00a0<strong>16:00 (GMT)<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>04 February 2019<\/strong>\u00a0at the latest.<\/p>\n<p>You are advised to complete and submit your application as soon as possible, as the online application system will be very busy in the days leading up to the application deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Supporting documentation deadline:\u00a0Your application must include the following supporting documentation by\u00a0<strong>16:00 (GMT)\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0<strong>18 February 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copy of your valid passport (or national ID card) showing your photograph, date of birth, and country of citizenship \u2013 uploaded to the online application system<\/li>\n<li>Full transcripts detailing\u00a0<strong>all<\/strong>\u00a0your higher education qualifications (with certified translations if not in English) \u2013 uploaded to the online application system<\/li>\n<li>Supporting statement from your supervisor at your home country university, highlighting current institutional links submitted directly by your supervisor to the online application system (supervisors will be sent an email request).<\/li>\n<li>Supporting statement from your proposed supervisor at a UK university, highlighting current institutional links submitted directly by your supervisor to the online application system (supervisors will be sent an email request).<\/li>\n<li>Reference from at least one other individual \u2013 submitted directly by the referee to the online application system (referees will be sent an email request)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The CSC will not accept supporting documentation submitted outside the online application system.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Access the online application system<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fs29.formsite.com\/m3nCYq\/form65\/form_login.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online application system<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is now open.<\/p>\n<p>The CSC aims to identify talented individuals who have the potential to make change.
