Our assembly, production capabilities and plant facilities make us the preferred provider of complex machine tools and varied equipment.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Cost Accountant<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<strong><br \/>\nJob Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The cost accountant\u2019s responsibility will entail overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization.<\/li>\n<li>The cost accountant will review existing purchases and recommend new cost-efficient and financially feasible options, and oversee purchasing costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out detail analyses of production cost (raw material, machine hour, man hour) and monitor same to ensure all cost or expenditure are captured and properly recorded.<\/li>\n<li>Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.<\/li>\n<li>Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.<\/li>\n<li>Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining Cost Accounting System.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting in Month end close of General Ledger.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program.<\/li>\n<li>Reconciles finished goods inventories.<\/li>\n<li>Check all finished products or work in progress to determine actual production cost and report any detected variance to the management for appropriate decision.<\/li>\n<li>Accurate prediction of relevant costs and time line for delivery of products to clients\/customers.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out regular market survey to determine the local and international materials cost and advise management appropriately e.t.c.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelors Degree in Accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Computer Literate \u2013 Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ERP Navision a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports<\/li>\n<li>Must have a strong cost accounting background and excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.<\/li>\n<li>Professional certifications in ICAN\/ACCA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills\/Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accurate and precise, attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Strategic thinking and strong execution skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and ability to work in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.<\/li>\n<li>Problem Solving\/Analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should forward a copy of their CV electronically to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:vacancies@nigeriamachinetools.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>vacancies@nigeriamachinetools.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria Machine Tools Limited (NMTL) is the leader in the manufacture of machine tools, machine accessories, mechanical spares and after sales support provider in West Africa.
