Drawing on a storied heritage of invention, BHGE harnesses the passion and experience of its people to enhance productivity across the oil and gas value chain.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Contracts Counsel \u2013 Sub-Saharan Africa<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job ID:<\/strong> 1902466<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Job Function:<\/strong> Legal<br \/>\n<strong>Business Segment:<\/strong> Baker Hughes GE Oilfield Services<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BHGE has an interesting opportunity for a Contracts Counsel for Sub-Saharan Africa to join our team in Lagos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate legal risks and provide advice regarding contractual risk issues; provide business-oriented solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Update contracts database with entries for work performed and review status.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct contract training seminars for company sales personnel and other departments.<\/li>\n<li>The role could involve travels within Sub-Sahara Africa<\/li>\n<li>Handles special projects as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Advise, negotiate and draft commercial customer facing agreements across the Oilfield Services (OFS) Product Company, as well as sub-contractor agreements, and prepare associated documentation (financial guarantee; letter of intent; pre-bid agreement or confidentiality agreement).<\/li>\n<li>Liaise and work with the Contracts &amp; Commercial teams of the OFS Product Company.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with the sales and operations teams regarding contracting policies, procedures and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve issues arising from existing and potential commercial relationships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work in a team oriented environment<\/li>\n<li>Detail oriented and results focused<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and make decisions<\/li>\n<li>Adherence to the highest confidential and ethical standards<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Law and relevant Law School qualification<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 3 years related experience required<\/li>\n<li>Experience in commercial contract review\/drafting and negotiation or any related legal issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desired Characteristics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil &amp; Gas industry experience preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of FCPA, Anti-boycott, Trade Sanctions &amp; Export Controls<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.gecareers.com\/ShowJob\/Id\/78373\/Contracts-Counsel-Sub-Saharan-Africa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baker Hughes, a GE company (NYSE:BHGE) is the world\u2019s first and only fullstream provider of integrated oilfield products, services and digital solutions.
