Focused on using cutting-edge blockchain technology to increase efficiency across markets, BitPesa opens corridors for business payments and trade between Africa and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Compliance and Due Diligence Associate<br \/>\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Lagos<strong><br \/>\nJob Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A key element of our AML compliance program is the management of our third-party population and the execution of effective client due diligence procedures on our business partner community.<\/li>\n<li>The Compliance and Due Diligence Associate will be responsible for reviewing new business\/MTO customer sign ups as part of KYC process and ensuring prompt approvals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driving the implementation and execution of our compliance processes for the selection, onboarding and monitoring of our third-parties, in line with the group-wide policies and procedures and relevant legal requirements (4MLD, PSD2, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Applying risk assessment procedures to appropriately identify and manage AML risks<\/li>\n<li>Providing training on Third-Party management and Compliance in general to both, internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Sharing experience and suggestions with the HoD to continuously improve the effectiveness of the Third-Party Management CDD processes<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining records and a complete and up-to-date documentation<\/li>\n<li>Creating and tracking metrics on due diligence activities to achieve accountability and to ensure that all compliance policies, procedures and tools are effectively communicated and strictly followed.<\/li>\n<li>Suggesting and implementing \u2013 in close cooperation with the senior compliance management officer \u2013 adequate mitigation measures to reduce the BitPesa\u2019s AML risk exposure<\/li>\n<li>Performing regular on-site visits at our business partner\u2019s premises as part of the global due diligence and monitoring framework<\/li>\n<li>Liaising and coordinating all activities with all relevant business counterparts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Process-oriented; ability to run sustainable due diligence procedures<\/li>\n<li>Strong ability to spot compliance issues and correspondingly strong ability to provide solutions or paths to resolution; problem-solver attitude.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of laws and regulations, including 4th Money Laundering Directive, Payments Services Directive 2, U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act, data privacy rules &amp; regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management skills, to include managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects, and reporting progress and risks to colleagues and senior management.<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, including documentation, record-keeping, and tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate complicated information in an understandable and engaging way.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to influence and build followership with associates at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Capable of working independently and collaboratively.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills, with ability to handle many complex issues simultaneously, prioritizing and effectively managing time.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills, including ability to manage highly sensitive matters and information with discretion and excellent judgment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work across functions, cultures, and organizational hierarchy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business or Law and minimum 2 years\u2019 experience in Third Party Compliance \/ Third Party due diligence in the Financial Services environment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong negotiation and persuasive communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel \u2013 domestic and international (&lt;25%).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of business ethics, integrity codes, and the Corporate Guidelines for Business Partners<\/li>\n<li>Excellent level of interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others and liaise between internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines quickly and reliably<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/bitpesa.workable.com\/j\/3657354A08\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BitPesa is a pan-African platform redefining how businesses make payments to and from sub-Saharan Africa.
