We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Java Programmer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Req ID:<\/strong> 5852<br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Strategic Information and Knowledge Management Lead<br \/>\n<strong>Position type:<\/strong> (Full time)<br \/>\n<strong>Contract duration:<\/strong> for the life of the project<strong><br \/>\nJob Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Java programmer under the supervision of the Strategic Information and Knowledge Management (SKM) Lead, will assist in the development and modification of IMHIPP electronic medical record (LAMIS).<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will contribute in all phases of Java application and Android app development lifecycle, Designs, codes, and tests new program modules or revisions to existing programs. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains code documentation, and enforces version tracking. Recommends changes to improve established java application processes.<\/li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.<\/li>\n<li>Develop technical designs for application development.<\/li>\n<li>Support Data exchange\/transfer module for interoperability with other applications.<\/li>\n<li>To take part in software and architectural development activities.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct software analysis, programming, testing and debugging.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying production and non-production application issues. Prepare and produce releases of software components.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, test, implement and maintain Java application and Android software.<\/li>\n<li>Support data digitization for the purpose of statistical analysis with STATA and SPSS.<\/li>\n<li>Compilation of the documentation for the application and users\u2019 guide. Design and implementation of dashboard\/automated graph generation module.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write well designed, testable and efficient code<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and produce releases of software components<\/li>\n<li>Any other tasks assigned<\/li>\n<li>Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications<\/li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.<\/li>\n<li>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and\/or competency required.<\/li>\n<li>Reasonable accommodations maybe made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and\/or Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc\/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Health Informatics or a related subject with minimum of 2 post-national youth services relevant experience.<\/li>\n<li>Proven hands-on electronic medical records development experience<\/li>\n<li>Proven working experience in Java development<\/li>\n<li>Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms<\/li>\n<li>Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.<\/li>\n<li>Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Class-loading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with test-driven development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write well designed, testable and efficient code<\/li>\n<li>Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications<\/li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and produce releases of software components<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)<\/li>\n<li>Development of electronic medical records<\/li>\n<li>Experience in public health programming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Time Management \u2013 Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and complete projects in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Quality Management \u2013 Looks for ways to improve and promote quality;
