Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.<\/p>\n<p>Following the nation\u2019s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years. Applications are invited for:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Title:\u00a0Operations &amp; Maintenance Technician Trainee Programme 2019<br \/>\nLocation<\/strong>: Ikorodu, Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full Time<br \/>\n<strong>Level:<\/strong> Entry<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Operations &amp; Maintenance Technician Trainee Programme is a 9-Month intensive blended training, designed to build and develop well trained technicians across all aspect of power engineering.<\/li>\n<li>The selected candidates will gather experience across the various technical departments of the power plant, acquiring requisite competencies to contribute to the achievement of the company\u2019s overall strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National Technical Certificate (Issued by NABTEB) in either Electrical &amp; Wiring, Machining, Welding &amp; Fabrication or any other Engineering Related Field.<\/li>\n<li>Ordinary National Diploma in any of the following Engineering Fields (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Production, Metallurgic and Material) Engineering or any other related Engineering field.<\/li>\n<li>0-2 Years Experience in any organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use and care of common hand tools and equipment used in the maintenance of large complex machinery and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, interpret and carry out complex written and oral instructions<\/li>\n<li>Good tool handling skills.<\/li>\n<li>Elementary principles of general science<\/li>\n<li>Basic mechanical, hydraulic and lab principles<\/li>\n<li>Possess general knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, materials and machines used in the assigned craft<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods<\/li>\n<li>Observational skills, basic repairs and troubleshooting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Attributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proactive<\/li>\n<li>Self Driven<\/li>\n<li>Committed<\/li>\n<li>Agile<\/li>\n<li>Confident<\/li>\n<li>Curious<\/li>\n<li>Smart<\/li>\n<li>Analytic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.sahara-group.com\/apply\/dTqVYDhBbv\/2019-Operations-Maintenance-Technician-Trainee-Programme?referrer=20190409182029KNWUPZHUGS2RBB9F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Egbin Power Plc.
