We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Ruby on Rails Developer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Ikeja, Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are sourcing for a Ruby on Rails Developer who will write server-side web application logic in Ruby, around the framework Rails and develop back-end components, connect the application with other web services, and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the application<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be working alongside other engineers, Business Analyst and Software Testers, collaborating on the various layers of the infrastructure and contributing at the different stages of the SDLC to develop world-class technology solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Principal Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement major features from scratch.<\/li>\n<li>Create unit tests for features.<\/li>\n<li>Work with QA to ensure the quality of the feature.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to design &amp; overall product architecture.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in every stage of feature development from design and brainstorming through feature implementation, including fixing that last critical bug under a tight release deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Work as part of a dynamic team collaborating closely with other developers, developers\u2019 teams and product marketing.<\/li>\n<li>Review requirements and provide input.<\/li>\n<li>Create functional specifications and designs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.<\/li>\n<li>Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes.<\/li>\n<li>Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{e.g. Git}<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with continuous integration\/continuous development\/deployment (e.g. Capistrano).<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of server-side templating languages.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful.<\/li>\n<li>A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attention to detail;<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working in a loosely structured organization<\/li>\n<li>Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules.<\/li>\n<li>First Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or any related Science discipline;<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of OOP and good knowledge of the JavaScript framework.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent collaborative skill.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working conditions<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility is important.<\/li>\n<li>Equal opportunity<\/li>\n<li>The role is open to anyone who meets the above criteria regardless of race or nationality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nCompetitive, based on experience<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.smartrecruiters.com\/VentureGardenGroup1\/743999688892153-ruby-on-rails-developer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Venture Garden Nigeria (VGN) is a fast growing Software company with a vision to build an enduring organization with an ecosystem of value creators- while delivering high impact technology solutions&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10165,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[20],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
