We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Radio Operator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Job Locations:<\/strong>\u00a0Gwoza, Bama, Dikwa, Ngala, Monguno, Damasak, Banki &amp; Rann \u2013 Borno<br \/>\n<strong>Requisition #:<\/strong> 105715<br \/>\n<strong>Organizational Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This job will be based in the following Hub locations\/Duty stations: Gwoza, Bama, Dikwa, Ngala, Monguno, Damasak, Banki &amp; Rann. Job holders are based in Radio Rooms and typically report to an Information Technology Officer, Security Officer, or the designate.<\/li>\n<li>At this level, job holders work in a team under minimal supervision and are expected to produce organised and accurate reports and technical work. As required, they may work with UNDSS Radio Room, especially in case of security incidents. This job may require to work different shifts and report for duty on short notice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To support telecommunications services in order to facilitate efficient implementation of security processes and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain inventory and provide recommendations for potential improvements, to support efficient planning and keep WFP telecommunications equipment operational.<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain databases (e.g. lists of call signs, addresses, telephone numbers, wardens, etc.), to ensure accurate information is available at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Follow established emergency response processes and procedures, to ensure prompt assistance in case of emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with WFP Security staff and\/or UNDSS Radio Room, to facilitate accurate and efficient security-related information flow following established standard operating procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for monitoring and channelling all radio communications including tracking of WFP vehicle and staff movement, to ensure efficient 24-hour coverage of telecommunications services.<\/li>\n<li>Produce regular and ad hoc reports including daily radio checks, and assist in preparation and dispatch of the summary of security incidents and other information to staff, to facilitate accurate, efficient and concise communication and information flow.<\/li>\n<li>Provide efficient support and training to users on telecommunications equipment and procedures including Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) requirements, to ensure effective use of telecommunications equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4Ps Core Organizational Capabilities<\/strong><br \/>\nPurpose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand and communicate the Strategic Objectives: Helps teammates articulate WFP\u2019s Strategic Objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Be a force for positive change: Suggests potential improvements to team\u2019s work processes to supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Make the mission inspiring to our team: Explains the impact of WFP activities in beneficiary communities to teammates.<\/li>\n<li>Make our mission visible in everyday actions: Articulates how own unit\u2019s responsibilities will serve WFP\u2019s mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>People:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Look for ways to strengthen people\u2019s skills: Trains junior teammates on new skills and capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Create an inclusive culture: Seeks opportunities to work with people from different backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>Be a coach &amp; provide constructive feedback: Serves as a peer coach for colleagues in same area of work.<\/li>\n<li>Create an \u201cI will\u201d\/\u201dWe will\u201d spirit: Tracks progress toward goals and shares this information on a regular basis with supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Performance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage innovation &amp; creative solutions: Explores ways to consistently be more efficient and accurate in own areas of work and shares new methods of work with colleagues.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on getting results: Focuses on getting results and tracks trends in completion rates for own tasks to identify opportunities for efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Make commitments and make good on commitments: Takes responsibility for own tasks and notifies supervisor as soon as possible of potential delays in meeting deadlines or commitments.<\/li>\n<li>Be Decisive: Independently decides what action to take when faced with critical choices in the workplace or in dangerous situations in the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Partnership:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect and share across WFP units: Suggests opportunities for partnering with other units to supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Build strong external partnerships: Identifies opportunities to work with colleagues and partners in the field towards common goals.<\/li>\n<li>Be politically agile &amp; adaptable: Develops an understanding of the value of WFP\u2019s teams and external partners in fulfilling team\u2019s goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Be clear about the value WFP brings to partnerships: Aligns own activities with supervisor\u2019s priorities to fulfill internal and external partner needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Specific Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This section is optional to describe additional responsibilities &amp; knowledge required for the specific job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Standard Minimum Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education: Completion of Secondary School Education.
