Initiates and facilitates corrective action where required. Assists management to develop risk management and compliance strategy &amp; policy through own efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Specification<\/strong><br \/>\nDescriptor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists in mitigation of compliance risks.<\/li>\n<li>Reports to the Governance Executive.<\/li>\n<li>Influence is limited to specific assigned functional area.<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on legislation and impact of legislation on the BU\/functional area.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible approach to work demands, expected to provide support to the Governance team on tasks as required by line manager.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures internal Group compliance requirements are adhered to and responsible for ensuring all compliance attestations are concluded within deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures regular stakeholder engagements (including regulatory engagements), coordinates all regulatory engagements under the supervision of the Governance Executive.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and embeds the regulatory strategy and regulatory engagement framework.<\/li>\n<li>Establishes and embeds compliance in the holding company (Old Mutual West Africa Company and its subsidiaries, namely Old Mutual Nigeria Life Assurance Company and Old Mutual Nigeria General Insurance Company).<\/li>\n<li>Ensures compliance within area by implementation of compliance risk management and compliance monitoring plans per each operating entity.<\/li>\n<li>Implements the compliance monitoring plan.<\/li>\n<li>Reports on compliance breaches to line managementand the Governance Executive.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares detailed up to date compliance reports as required by the line manager.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures all regulatory returns are filed as required.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates resolution of compliance breaches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Result Areas<\/strong><br \/>\nCompliance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures compliance within area by implementation of compliance risk management and monitoring plan, as well as through staff supervised, over periods of up to 3 months.<\/li>\n<li>Reports on compliance breaches to line management and Governance Executive.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates resolution of compliance breaches.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in mitigation of compliance risk.<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on legislation and impact of legislation on the BU\/functional area.<\/li>\n<li>Assists the Governance Executive with the effective co-ordination and execution of the quarterly audit, risk and compliance meetings for Old Mutual Nigeria and all the subsidiary companies.<\/li>\n<li>Challenges and escalates (within the defined escalation framework) where deemed appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Effectiveness:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of up to 3 months.<\/li>\n<li>Makes increased contributions by broadening individual skills.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal goals.<\/li>\n<li>Accepts and lives the company values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nQualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A first Degree or its equivalent in relevant field\u00a0 (Master\u2019s degree is an advantage), ACAMS or similar certificate in Compliance<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 years work experience (three of which must be at middle management level)<\/li>\n<li>Relevant industry experience is required<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Good Excel and PowerPoint skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Offer<\/strong><br \/>\nMarket Related<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.oldmutual.com.ng\/index.php?s=advert_view&amp;g=8424&amp;x=3506689&amp;i=1257&amp;pop=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here to apply<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>26th June, 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Old Mutual Nigeria consists of a Life Assurance and General Insurance business and provides a wide spectrum of insurance solutions tailored to meet unique individual and corporate clients\u2019 circumstances.
