We are looking for competent and qualified candidates for the position below :<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nJob Title:\u00a0Health &amp; Safety Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Reference Code:<\/strong> SNL\/LOS\/001<br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> Safety<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Project Coordinator<br \/>\n<strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Health &amp; Safety Officer will play a vital role in protecting employees in the workplace and project sites.<\/li>\n<li>S\/He will use their expertise and experience to control risks at the office environment\/ project sites and ensure that organization meets current safety standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties And Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.<\/li>\n<li>Developing measures to ensure personal safety in the office\/project sites<\/li>\n<li>Ensure preparation and implementation of site safety and health plan (SSHP)<\/li>\n<li>Regularly review, be familiar and update knowledge on applicable legislation, standards and policies and ensure compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and schedule all safety staff and first aid coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the supervisors, foreman and safety advisors in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all incident corrective actions are followed up and completed.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure corrective measures are put in place for unsafe acts or conditions in the work environment &amp; project sites through regular line of authority.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure there are safety messages in every unsafe situation and come up with an action plan.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and report accidents that have occurred within incident areas and ensure immediate report to the appropriate authority.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications, Skills \/ Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First degree in Engineering\/ Social Sciences or any related field<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5+ years\u2019 hands on experience as a HSE field Officer<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to travel.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Incident Investigation skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication, reporting, interpersonal, organization, stress management and analytic skills.<\/li>\n<li>Certification in HSE would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years\u2019 supervisory experience<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to assess risk to company operations and activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should submit an updated Resume to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:snl.hr1@skipperseil.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>snl.hr1@skipperseil.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0the subject of the mail should be the Job Title<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>23rd August, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Skipperseil group a multi-national company engaged in critical power sector and infrastructure and has been a strategic investor in generation, transmission and distribution segment of the Nigeria power sector.
