{"id":77973,"date":"2019-09-02T12:49:48","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T11:49:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/?p=77973"},"modified":"2019-09-02T12:51:01","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T11:51:01","slug":"commonwealth-professional-fellowships-recent-employment-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistnigeria.com\/commonwealth-professional-fellowships-recent-employment-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Commonwealth Professional Fellowships Recent Employment Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commonwealth Professional Fellowships are for mid-career professionals from low and middle income Commonwealth countries to spend between six weeks and three months at a UK Host organisation working in their sector on a programme of professional development.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Professional Fellowships provide talented and motivated professionals with the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in their given sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>These Fellowships are offered under six development themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Science and technology for development<br \/>\n2.Strengthening health systems and capacity<br \/>\n3.Promoting global prosperity<br \/>\n4.Strengthening global peace, security and governance<br \/>\n5.Strengthening resilience and response to crises<br \/>\n6.Access, inclusion and opportunity<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong>\u00a0To provide professionals with the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in their given sector, and to have catalytic effects on their workplaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intended\u00a0 beneficiaries:<\/strong>\u00a0Mid-career\u00a0 professionals\u00a0 (with\u00a0 five\u00a0 years\u2019\u00a0 relevant\u00a0 work\u00a0 experience)\u00a0 working\u00a0 in development-related organisations in low and middle income Commonwealth countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for these fellowships, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person<\/li>\n<li>Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country<\/li>\n<li>Have at least five years\u2019 full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant work experience, in a profession related to the subject of the Fellowships programme, by the proposed start of the fellowship \u2013 voluntary work experience will not be counted towards this minimum<\/li>\n<li>Be in employment at the time of application that they will return to upon completion of the fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Not have undertaken a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship within the last five years (at the time of application)<\/li>\n<li>Not be seeking to undertake an academic programme of research or study in the UK. Academics are eligible to apply for the scheme, but only to undertake programmes of academic management, not research or courses relevant to their research subject<\/li>\n<li>Be available to undertake the Fellowship\u00a0<strong>between 10 February 2020 and 16 March 2020<\/strong>.
