We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Strategic Communications Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Abuja<br \/>\n<strong>Primary Function\/Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Strategic Communications Officer will be responsible for leading the coordination and overall design of IFES Nigeria\u2019s external and internal communications efforts, across various programmatic teams when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Major Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing, drafting and editing documents in support of the program including: promotional\/background materials, social media posts, project reports and project correspondence in both English and other local languages where needed;<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing and coordinating IFES Nigeria\u2019s external and internal communications in a timely manner;<\/li>\n<li>Leading on the design and development of an IFES Nigeria website, contributing with content, materials and illustrations on a regular basis;<\/li>\n<li>Leading on the design and development of high quality IFES Nigeria graphic designs, infographics, media contents and photographs that supports IFES program implementation and reporting;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and collaborating with vendors such as photographers, video producers, graphic designers, printers, etc. to ensure high quality products that meet IFES needs;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with USAID Communications unit on IFES Nigeria behalf providing success stories and summary report of implemented IFES events;<\/li>\n<li>Advise, as agreed with the Country Director, IFES counterparts on strategic communications<\/li>\n<li>Working collaboratively with other departments to design integrated communications materials to ensure alignment of messages with IFES program objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and disseminating IFES Nigeria stories and reports;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with IFES branding, marking, communications and outreach policies and strategies;<\/li>\n<li>Managing IFES Nigeria external outreach platforms, including social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter accounts);<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with the logistical preparation and implementation of program activities such as conferences and trainings;<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining, organizing and updating IFES Nigeria multimedia files-photographs, videos,printed materials -as well as stakeholder contact information;<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to be creative \u2013 Capability in creative &amp; graphic design \u2013 (ability to build picture-based communications \/ posters \/ infographics \/ etc).<\/li>\n<li>The ability to remain organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines;<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality;<\/li>\n<li>Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to bring innovative ideas and external insight in to communications.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills in English;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in relevant field required;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of four years of relevant experience;<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience organizing events and logistics;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in design of publications for outside consumption preferred;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent English language writing skills;<\/li>\n<li>Working level proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and standard graphic design software.<\/li>\n<li>Language Skills: Fluency in English language required.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of political issues and elections preferred;<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience in providing advice on strategic communication to organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing databases, social media sites;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in infographics and data visualization;<\/li>\n<li>Travel: Travel may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements\/Work Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard office work environment.<\/li>\n<li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the<\/li>\n<li>essential functions of the job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their Applications, current Resume and Cover Letter to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ifesnigeria@ifes.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ifesnigeria@ifes.org<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0using the Job Title as the subject of the mail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Only applications sent by email will be considered and shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>22nd October, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) supports citizens\u2019 rights to participate in free and fair elections.
