We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Operation and Support Engineer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Location<\/strong>: Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary &amp; Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The SE assists project teams with technical inputs and issues during the Initiation, Planning and Execution phases of project life-cycle. These activities include R &amp; D within the project life-cycle, technical analysis, implementing, testing and rolling-out the ERS solutions.<\/li>\n<li>The SE participates in the smooth software transition between development phase and production operation.<\/li>\n<li>The SE is accountable for the following systems: RHEL, MySQL server, MariaDB, ERS 360 solution, USSD Gateway, SIGTRAN\/SS7 interface.<\/li>\n<li>The Operations and Support Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation and configuration, operation and maintenance of the ERS software, hardware and related infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>The SE participates in technical research and development to enable a continuous improvement and innovation within the ERS environment.<\/li>\n<li>The SE ensures the ERS software systems, hardware systems and related processes and procedures adhere to organizational values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nImplementation and Provisioning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install new \/ upgrade existing ERS servers and configure hardware, peripheral, services settings, storage, networks, databases, etc in accordance with standards and projects \/ operations requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct integrations with Operator\u2019s platforms such as HLR, SMSC, USSD, CS.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and improve installation and configuration procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to maintain systems standards.<\/li>\n<li>Research and recommend innovative and when possible automated approaches for Systems deployment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Operations and Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems, reviewing application logs, verifying completion of daily jobs such as backups.<\/li>\n<li>Perform daily backups and regular archiving and purging if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Perform Level II, III support per requests from various stakeholders. Investigate and troubleshoot incidents reported.<\/li>\n<li>Repair and recover from application failures.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Maintenance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apply patches and upgrades in accordance with Change Management processes in place.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain configurations, monitoring tool, capacity planning tool, and other procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Perform periodic performance audit and reporting to improve capacity planning.<\/li>\n<li>Perform continuous performance tuning and optimizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Qualification: Bachelor\u2019s degree with a technical major (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics)<\/li>\n<li>Professional Qualification: System Administration \/ System Engineering Certification in Unix \/ Linux<\/li>\n<li>Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience in administering production systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key skills and competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsibility for training if necessary and knowledge sharing within the work unit.<\/li>\n<li>Communications \/ interpersonal \u2013 ability to interpret and discuss information with others, involving terminologies and concepts that are not familiar to all.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the Telecom environment.<\/li>\n<li>Solving \/ Decision Making \u2013 The position deals with a variety of problems and the SE should be able to decide which solution is the best.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions \/ Physical Efforts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.<\/li>\n<li>Travel required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><br \/>\nVery attractive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested and qualified candidates should send their tailored CV to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:apply@alfred-victoria.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>apply@alfred-victoria.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0using the Job Title as subject of the email.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>13th November, 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Any application received after the above time will be automatically rejected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alfred &amp; Victoria Associates is one of Nigeria\u2019s leading ICT solution based company.
