We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Legal and Compliance Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Lagos<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functions &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nCompliance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a legal and regulatory compliance checklist and check for 100% compliance;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking appropriate action;<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with external regulators and advisers, such as lawyers and auditors;<\/li>\n<li>Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability develop\/implement corrective action plan for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.<\/li>\n<li>Manage interactions\/ correspondence with regulators and relevant legal agent<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that none of the policies and procedures of the Company and its related activities is illegal, unethical, or improper;<\/li>\n<li>Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Litigation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer dispute resolution advice including matters of recovery claims and actions;<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with external Lawyer representing the Company in any form of dispute;<\/li>\n<li>Handle all default related litigations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contracts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drafting and review of contracts, including but not limited to contracts for provision of goods and services; acquisition of goods and services, partnership contracts, etc;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure legal documentation of transaction executed by the company;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate execution and monitor implementation of<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Legal Advise:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide Legal advise on the relevant laws and regulations as it concerns the business of the Company;<\/li>\n<li>Draft Legal Opinions when requested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Custodianship:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure effective and efficient filing system<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper custody of sensitive documents<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper titles and ownership of Group\u2019s assets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indicators<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure zero penalty in regulatory\u00a0 filings, and ensure filings are done on the due date provided there are no operational constraints<\/li>\n<li>Communication of changes in relevant legislation and actions taken to ensure implementation and compliance within 48 hours of such change.<\/li>\n<li>Draft and Review contracts\/ agreements within 48 hours of request.<\/li>\n<li>Profer advise within the stipulated timeline.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure document is released within 10 minutes of request.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure documents are not released without appropriate authorization.<\/li>\n<li>Raise a red flag within an hour of detecting unethical, illegal or improper activities.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain all document\/ correspondences in the compliance files.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure response to correspondence within 24 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills \/ Competence Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning and good book keeping skill<\/li>\n<li>Integrity\u00a0 and Accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Precision<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of regulations and policies relevant to the company business<\/li>\n<li>Research and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Good relationship Management skills<\/li>\n<li>Drafting skills, practical knowledge of contract, analytical skills accuracy and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Proactive and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Good relationship management<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>In-depth understanding of company internal operations and structure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Generic Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proactive Attitude<\/li>\n<li>Analytical skills \/ Problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Good multitasking capabilities<\/li>\n<li>Good analytical and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft<\/li>\n<li>Resilience, Tenacity and Integrity,<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills and ability to work in\u00a0 team<\/li>\n<li>Communication (oral &amp; written)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a first degree in Law, must have be called to the Nigerian bar.<\/li>\n<li>Professional Membership<\/li>\n<li>Must be a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)<\/li>\n<li>A recognised professional certification will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To
