We are recruiting to fill the position below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Welfare Advisor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Kano<br \/>\n<strong>Department:<\/strong> ICHSSA Program<br \/>\n<strong>Position:<\/strong> 40 hr \/ week<br \/>\n<strong>Reports To:<\/strong> ICHSSA Project Team Lead, AIHA Senior Program Specialist \/ THSI-N Executive Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direction of the ICHSSA Project Team Lead, and the THIS-N Executive Director, the Social Welfare Advisor (SWA) is responsible for supporting the Society for Family Health program in Kano State, the northern region.<\/li>\n<li>The SWA will be working as part of the lead technical team in the implementation of the ICHSSA Program. Areas of responsibility include strategic planning; facilitating ICHSSA Program partner trainings; report writing; and program logistical support.<\/li>\n<li>The SWA must be able to work independently and use sound judgment in responding to partner and program needs and in supporting project transition.<\/li>\n<li>S \/ he will be in close contact with AIHA staff and THSI-N staff and partners, and will coordinate communication and program activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direction of the SFH Team Lead, work with THSI-N staff and partners as the lead advisor for all relevant social work project activities<\/li>\n<li>Assist partners with the development, editing, finalization, and packaging of program curriculum, reports and materials<\/li>\n<li>Keep abreast of all SFH program activities and maintain close contact with SFH partners and other collaborators<\/li>\n<li>Implement program monitoring and evaluation (M&amp;E) activities<\/li>\n<li>Provide program updates to AIHA \/ THSI-N staff, ICHSSA Program partners, and stakeholders on a regular basis<\/li>\n<li>Schedule, coordinate, and participate in program trainings and meetings<\/li>\n<li>Serve as an information source on program policies, procedures, and administration guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Submits monthly reports to the AIHA \/ THSI-N Executive Director<\/li>\n<li>Work with social work institutions, THSI-N staff and partner organizations in the north to implement social work activities<\/li>\n<li>Work to build the social welfare capacity of local government agencies (LGA), civil society organizations (CSO), community-based organizations (CBO) and partner institutions<\/li>\n<li>Work with AIHA \/ THSI-N staff and ICHSSA Program staff and partners to develop and maintain program workplans, making changes and updates as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Complete other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Social Work with at least (5) years\u2019 work experience in social work, Public Health or other related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>MSc in Social Work with at least three (3) years\u2019 work experience in social work, Public Health or other related discipline will be an advantage; experience working with Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) preferred<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing contractors and arranging contract agreements<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently as well as in team environment<\/li>\n<li>Must be very dependable and detail oriented<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Personal and professional maturity and judgment<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of public health, particularly OVC, HIV and AIDS programs<\/li>\n<li>English and Hausa fluency is essential<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of or experience in program management and support procedures<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to implement multidimensional projects<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and maintain close relationships with various stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively with diverse coworkers and project participants<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter and strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and the Internet<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to travel domestically in northern Nigeria 25-35% of the time<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, work independently and in a team environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ADA Specifications<\/strong><br \/>\nPhysical Demands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
